Again with today I thought Timo offered us something. He can create space and burn his opponent with relative ease. I thought his run and cross for Will in the first half was great. Felt awful for him when he went through and took the ball too far in the second. I think he has things to offer us, markedly with injuries and in the group stage of this competition.
I’ll agree with the cross for Will, but what else did he do?
His confidence looks shot, as the opportunity in the 2nd half showed.

Good quote from Glenn Hoddle…

Whoever Spurs are playing, they're getting too many chances, even back to that Coventry game.

They've just got ot look tight. It's lovely going forward, but there's two sides to football, when you've got it and when you've not got it.

They've just got to sort that out if they're going to go on and beat better opponents.

Common sense, isnt it ?

If only, Ange could bring that pragmatism into our game, I will be fully onboard Ange train.

It's great to see a couple of the academy lads going along but the fact that they took Reggie (a player who's not only not in the EL squad but isn't part of Ange's plans in any way) along to make up the numbers for a couple of training sessions and still left Djed at home is even more bizarre, especially as he replaced Destiny in the left-back role on Sunday.

Right, off to support Porto for the rest of the evening :woot:
What about the co efficient

Tell us something we don’t know Glen.
I think we will do better when Romero starts to play better, he’s not right at the moment.

That's a much better European experience than we've had in recent years away from home. Sure it was not perfect but at the same time you at least appreciate the youth of the team. To come away with a win, hit the post and bar with plenty of positives is great progress. Special mention for Moore who looks so confident and Gray so composed. Lankshear shows some nice hold up play and Bergvall always looks to get on the ball even though things weren't going for him today. The most important thing tonight is we played the same way as our best team where in the past these European away games we've looked like the players never played together before.

I agree that he’s not good enough to start but I could see him coming on for the last 20 minutes for most of the lose players to help them to remain fresh.
He’s class, just a matter of time . Archie and Mikey are definitely starters in the future. Will and Lucas ? We will have to wait and see.

We really need a more solid back up CB for Van De Ven

Think that's our biggest issue with these types of matches

We did that against United perfectly fine

Enjoyable little romp of a game almost ruined by the turgid, negative tripe spewed continuously by Matterface and Hoddle.
I thought this too.
Jesus, they were negative for most of that, totally unnecessarily too imo.

Actually, in recent years that first and second away game is the one we've tended to stuff up which leaves qualification harder.

Rennes, Antwerp, Vitesse etc

We even made hard work of some of those away qualifications against total minnows when Jose was in charge.

That was nearly 3 clean sheets in a row Glenn, and 3 wins.

As good as Gray is - he is not a better fit than our current CM line-up.

Maddison-Kulusevski-Bentancur/Bissouma is a tough line-up to crack.

He also is not better than Porro.

And, he is not displacing Romero or van de Ven.

Everyone just needs a bit of patience. Gray's time will come.
But...he can play all of those positions at 18. He was phenomenal tonight.

Do we concede more goals than with previous managers? I remember when we leaked goals non stop with the “defensive” coaches.

You dont need to go back to 'defensive coaches'. I didnt say play defensive, did I ?
By the way, you need to look at what we conceded last season - 61 goals conceded in PL. In season in 2016/17, when we played the best attacking football in decades under Poch, we conceded also less -26 for whole season
So, we have done in last 10 years - to play attacking and yet be solid.
