I agree but I just can’t see him doing was Bissouma did tonight. Can he be more creative or replace the energy of Sarr?
I think if you play Gray in midfield at this point, he’d play instead of Maddison, not as a 6 - even if the latter is where he may end up

Agreed. Technically he might be the best of the bunch but as you say, seems a bit too eager/unsettled still. Fairly sure we both know it's just a matter of bedding in etc. Silly to think how young he still is and how many changes he's going through RN professionally.

Moore is a good player where it most matters already at just 17 - good head on his shoulders, intelligent player. Bodes very well. *suppresses squeal of excitement*
Absolutely! And to be fair, playmaking in this system is definitely not an easy role. Madders also was way off it tonight, rushing things, when a calm head was needed.

Good win. We were lucky to go ahead after a first 20 minutes which was disjointed and lacking in intensity, much like the Coventry performance. But from then on we were the better team. Thought Moore was excellent and Bissouma looked a class above in the middle despite being a bit careless in possession at times.

Like I said, it's fragile. You cannot possibly be in any doubt who he supports and who he wants to win. People complain about biased pundits, so if he tries not to be then surely that's a step in the right direction, but no, we don't want biased pundits and now we don't want impartial ones.
Not really what I said but you do you.

Bergval is trying too hard and probably isn't the man for a wet night in Stoke. However, he wont improve if he isn't played so tonight should be viewed as a big plus and a chance for the coaches to show him what he needs to improve upon.

Really shows the glaring holes in our squad but I’ll take the win.
we need another 10, definitely need a LCB and LB.

Again with today I thought Timo offered us something. He can create space and burn his opponent with relative ease. I thought his run and cross for Will in the first half was great. Felt awful for him when he went through and took the ball too far in the second. I think he has things to offer us, markedly with injuries and in the group stage of this competition.

Hmm he seems to be more of a dribbler and ball carrier rather than a lock picker (from the very small sample size).

I think Ange recognises that he’s too good to not play, so will get minutes somewhere.

Just to circle back to some of the early comments in the thread - I really enjoyed watching the game.

Obviously the result helps, but the performance from the players led to the result. Confident performances all around.

Bergvall struggled to pass the ball in this pitch & kept on slipping....
Then, Maddisson came on and didnt do any better -infact he was worse.

I guess, we just move on and hope he does better in future games

As good as Gray is - he is not a better fit than our current CM line-up.

Maddison-Kulusevski-Bentancur/Bissouma is a tough line-up to crack.

He also is not better than Porro.

And, he is not displacing Romero or van de Ven.

Everyone just needs a bit of patience. Gray's time will come.

We should be beating AZ at home (they only just scraped a win past Elfsborg at home). So if we can do that, we put ourselves in a great position before those tricky away ties to Rangers and Galatasaray.

Will take a bit of pressure off and the kids should also have really settled into the competition.
Rangers isn’t tricky. They are absolute guff.

I agree that he’s not good enough to start but I could see him coming on for the last 20 minutes for most of the lose players to help them to remain fresh.

Loved that. Exactly what I wanted. Blood the youth, some great performances and 3 points away in Europe.

I'm sure those that wanted Ange out, Brennan out, and even Kulu in the summer will have a different opinion. But that was fantastic to me. COYS.
