And yet ekoku was sure that if they sell
dCL (with 1 year left) and maupay they’ll afford toney 😂
In fairness it's not like there's a massive bidding war going on for Toney (who I believe also only has 1 year left?) But you're absolutely right that they won't be getting much money for Maupay or DCL!

Very controlled performance today which was pleasing. As others have said, surprised by the subdued nature of the atmosphere, I think maybe the switching ends didn’t help.
Re the atmosphere i just feel like everton were so negative from the start, after the first goal they remained so negative it just felt like a friendly.

If everton had put up a contest it wouldve been different. Worst team ive seen in absolutely ages and i went to the forest/luton/burnley games last season.

I have never understood the fuss about Calvert-Lewin and yesterday confirmed my belief he is very over rated. He seemed knackered by halftime.

His replacement Beto ? just wanted to foul the nearest Spurs player. If those two are their only strikers they are going down at last.
To be fair to him he was doing a lot of running and had no support. Everton were playing a 4-5-1 formation even their 'wingers' were more defensive midfielders. He was on a hiding to nothing.

When he did get the ball he got crowded out and had no out balls.

Injuries have really destroyed his career. But he's not a bad player by any stretch.

For him to play well you need players around him to play off and actually give him chances, set pieces aside he had nothing to work with.

Obviously not a world beater, but a mix of injuries and negative football has stunted his development.

He was also against Romero and VDV who are 2 of the best one on one defenders out there.

The other guy they brought on was just a thug.

Couldn't agree more.

Ange understands the players far better than any of us.

He stays out wide, draws a defender, and contributes to our attacking play.
We can still have an opinion, Johnson doesn't merit what we paid for him to me. A year on and I cant see an improvement from him and if you had to discuss who is the weakest link I think he would win it outstandingly.

He primary position is on the right I believe. I think those three will be the starting front line with Werner, Richie and Johnson backup.
Werner looks so soured off every time the camera looked on the bench, I would be surprised if there are any clips of him with joy yesterday.

I think that is so incorrect. He made two key interceptions when defending and an all round good game.
I couldn't say an ALL round good game, also couldn't it be expected that anyone else who plays on the right would make key interceptions too? For me, I would like to see the left back worried when you get the ball and you sometimes get the better as well.

But he actually made those interceptions in dangerous situations in our penalty. But let's rubbish them by saying someone else could have made them. They didn't - he did !

Where did I say fans in here couldn't have an opinion?

Last season in just twenty six starts he scored five and produce ten assists. I don't know what anyone expects after just two games of the new season.

I don't really care who see's an improvement in any player this season after only two games, Ange works with these players almost daily, and his opinion and decisions are the only one's that I see as important.

Johnson given the injury and suspension issues we had last season was one of our better players, unless the facts are totally ignored, then it's just evident that some fans just don't understand his contribution, or just want to ignore the actual facts.

Doesnt really matter what you or I care about does it? Have your opinion and I can have mine, no need to go about as if yours is the only one that matters.
When Solanke is back and Son moved to the left it'll be interesting to see if Johnson is still starting, you are correct the mangers opinions are the only ones that matter.

It was only a very poor, if not the worse everton side i've ever seen, yes an improvement for sure but the real test is in the coming weeks away at St.jame's and the NLD...
