I thought Mourinho was supposed to be good tactically. This is a shambles. Dier is afraid to pass. Also, where is the desire from our team. There appears to be none. Disgraceful. The only positive is if it exposes the weaknesses so they can be addressed.

Thing with Gazzaniga is he seems to be a confidence player. This will f**k him up

I'd change it to a 343 for second half and match up. Take off Aurier and bring on Ndombele or Winks in the middle, move Sissoko to right wingback. Then I'd take off Lucas for Lo Celso and move Dele into the front 3 with Son and Kane. Dele and Son are making the same runs in the same space, Lucas is in no man's land and there is no defensive shape.
If we match up at the back they don't have midfield runners that will get in behind the back line and we can keep a relatively high line
I don't agree with your changes, but we definitely should go 343. We should have dropped just Dier into a back five as soon as we saw the team sheet.

But we're just simple minded forum posters so what do we know?

How many times this season I've told that we can't play worse. And yet somehow we are always able to show new sort if shit. Chelsea aren't even trying.
I get your point but Chelsea are trying.

That is the best 45 they've played under Lampards.

Jose has to get ndombele up to speed with his fitness levels soon to break the Dier-Sissoko midfield combo.

I'm at the game and I wish I wasn't. Jose's long ball/only one full back tactic completely found out. As most would have assumed against a good team. Chelsea not even fantastic but we have been so bad. Need big changes.

Beat stick is coming out for Mourinho. Disgraceful. Granted not the best games in both against United and today first 45mins, the players are just doing him a great disservice with such half-hearted performance.
Crying out for a give and go, ball demanding/controlling CM

I can't even blame the defenders as there is no movement in front of them and that starts with what you do on the training ground..which clearly shows Jose has been out Christmas shopping majority of the week.

Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso and Eriksen on the bench and we are playing with three midfielders that cant control the ball.
I'm fine with Sissoko but other than that I completely agree with you. Dier is a medium talent that maxed out his ability around 3 years ago. Why he continues to play is a question only Mourinho and his massive ego can answer.
