Nothing sums up our season more than when Van der Ven expertly picks it up in his own box rounds two players, a lovely burst of pace, a pass to Solanke, who then promptly trips over himself.

Pass was fired at him, and was behind him. Not digging VDV out, of course, but harsh to criticise Solanke for that.

It was probably the shock of a teammate passing to him to be fair!

Just got home from the game via the pub.
No change from us - just the usual chaos and lack of cohesion that we have all come to expect, but that’s the first time I picked up real apathy in the crowd.
Not even a Levy out chant, and it’s almost like most fans are resigned to our fate, having had the stuffing kicked out of them this season.
Even Coytey seemed a bit flat.
Only a miracle can salvage something this season, but the annoying thing is, is that there are some talented players in that squad, and a good coach could quickly get us up the league, and put smiles back on faces.

My takes from today's match:-
I realise that Romero was rusty and made some mistakes but we have missed his ability to play decisive forward passes to feet, breaking the lines.
Brennan Johnson shouldn't be starting. He is not improving and has little effect in games.
Bergvall should be starting as he brings real energy to the side and constantly looks to attack.
We need to start with a creative midfielder. Much better when Maddison was brought on.

Would you be saying the same had sarrs cross not been miss hit into the net? Or if kepa didn’t have a brain fart? Struggling to remember another shot at goal aside from bergavall hitting the post, and sarr slicing it wide.

AT HOME btw.

If that performance is your bar, you’re part of the problem, lapping up shite performances and concluding there was improvement.

we ALL accept mediocrity hardly surprising why the players and levy don’t give 2 fucks about it.
Other than the first 5 minutes 2 goals from turnover situations do you remember Bournemouth having a shot at goal? Especially in the second half, Kluivert hit the post but as you say so did we, I can't remember Vicario having to make a real save and don't forget Sonny's shot that unfortunately just clipped a defender's calf to just pass the post.
I'm not making a case for a superb display but I am questioning the narrative that Bournemouth somehow were untouchable and we were worse than useless.
I'm just not accepting people's confirmation bias.

What the fuck has turnovers got to do with your argument? If anything it works against your narrative as it shows the tactics that ange is insisting on us playing are leading to these ridiculous chances we are conceding.

they had 8 shots on target to our 3, we were the home team, but like EVERY SINGLE other team we play, they let us have the ball as they know we’re not going to hurt them, wait for us to make an inevitable mistake and play one ball through via a TURNOVER and they’re in on our goal, whilst half our team are still chasing shadows.

mit was a a pathetic performance and the result does not tell the story.

I’m not saying Bournemouth were great, in fact it examplifies my point that they didn’t even have to be THAT good to make us look below average.

I just can’t fathom how you’re happy with that performance.

Vicario made 6 saves (and a few of those were top drawer). Kepa made 2 (from powder puff headers) then went on to get done with a cross and give away a stupid pen. We got battered today and carved open time and time again while we created very few (if any) clear cut opportunities.

On another day we lose that 4-0 so that’s not confirmation bias it’s an accurate reflection of the game that most of the posts here seem to concur with.

I see exactly the same, it kills for those that don't.

We are a team severally lacking confidence right now. You can feel/smell/see it.

The players and fans are tense. Nervous on the ball, taking extra touches, passes under hit (so many of these today).

The opposition can see it too.

Unfortunately for me this is when a manager needs to change. Get someone new in and they inspire this change.

Thursday is last chance saloon for this season but regardless of what happens, other than a Europa League win, I think Ange gets replaced in the summer.

not sure how we escaped with a draw.... not sure how we didn't go 0-2 down in the first five minutes.

We need focus and belief. i think we mentally are not in the right space at the moment.

The confidence to play a first time pass has been beaten out of us. And we end up taking two or three and that just invites pressure on us. It’s clear that we either need to trust the process or move on. We are a shell of ourselves at the moment. Neither brave or stupid.

Did you see that shitshow in midfield?

All three of those starters today are "yet to play in midfield" as far as i am concerned.
You know what point I’m making. For whatever reason, Ange doesn’t play him there. So pining for it is pointless.

Odobert was the standout player in the first half, until that fraud moved him.

That idiot has no idea what he is looking at. Head full of rocks.
Well, team was better on 2nd half. It's not about what is best for Odobert, but what is best for team.

For me Johnson was as much to blame for Bournemouth's 1st goal as anyone else, He hid from the pass.

I'm getting tired of his cowardly play.

Feel the same. Akin to when folk suggested we were ‘over-coached’ under Conte .. the belief that the players would be ripped into if an error occurred, and lost their confidence as a result..,
