Really looking forward to this one. Tough to call, both teams carrying injuries, but I'm so hoping we can lay a massive marker down in this first leg in anticipation of both teams being fully fit and battle ready for the second.

I woke up with a good feeling, a confident feeling that it's gonna be a proper European night to remember!

Its going to be a rip roarer of a game. 6-3 to Spurs.

Optimistic! Not sure we have 6 goals in us without kane and alli. Will be very tough indeed. Personally i still would not start llorente. Id rather lamela for his energy and so both he and eriksen can keep looking to thread through balls to son. Its our best chance imo.

Sound logic, but by all accounts Dortmund's main defensive weakness is in the air at centre back, particularly given their injuries. Would seem negligent not to try and exploit that, given that's Nando's only real strength.

Really hard to call this. Both teams have some key injuries so it's hard to predict. We can't be too cocky just because of last season. When we played them before they were in the middle of a disastrous managerial appointment and playing terribly all round. This time we play them with a good manager who has got them playing well, so it'll be a test for sure. I'm going to go with 2-1 to Spurs. But that might be optimistic. We need Son to be on form and he looked pretty shattered against Leicester the other day.

Actually they had started the season excellenty and remained unbeaten in the league a few more weeks after we beat them (with statistically the best defence in Europe's top leagues). They're total collapse really started to take effect in mid October and they suddenly couldn't buy a win for the rest of the calendar year.

Obviously they are better now and more consistent, but I maintain they're not the fearsome unit some are making them out to be.

so i've seen some dortmund this season and they have been playing well but they have been heavily reliant on sancho, reus and alcacer.

Reus has 13 goals and 7 assists i think, Alcacer has about 13 goals and next is sancho with 8 . So with two of the major goal scorers and assist players out that is great news. The next bunch of players like witzel and gotze have 3 goals. Their defence as well is limited now with so many injuries so if anybody wanted a bit of positivity then this is it. Also in the second leg we should have Kane and Alli back or at least that is what is being said. Just got to put in the performance now as Reus and Alcacer will be back for the 2nd leg.

Just to back your post up:

If they end up being toothless up-front, then we should win tonight (y)

Ive got a feeling Jadon Sancho is gonna try and put on a show. that boy is the real deal.

But its a big game and we're more than capable of turning them over tonight.

I know - 6 was a figment of my imagination. I think our defence is better than theirs but our attack is perhaps slightly inferior to theirs without Kane and Dele although i dont really know much of their attack.

It will be an open game I think, a fair few goals.

7 - 4 to spurs

Can you blame him? English lad in a Champions League knockout game at the national stadium. This is the game he'll want to really show England, and especially City what they lost out on. And by England I mean the Prem and English clubs.

Can you or someone else remind me why we didnt get him? Lots of chatter about us getting him or was it a case of man shitty not wanting us to get him

Perhaps he was promised game time at Dortmund that we couldn't provide from the off? I'm not aware of why, or what we couldn't do to get him. But, I respect him for taking on the challenge to move abroad into a different league at such a young age. More of our youngsters should start doing the same (if we don't get them ourselves). Gives them an extra football and cultural education.

Read an interview with him yesterday and he came across like such a well adjusted, mature young fella. Bright future ahead and I'm so glad he is English.

How do we think Dortmund will lineup?

Looks like two teams hurt heavily on injuries.
