Seriously though, we are in relegation form and tumbling fast towards the bottom
The question I keep asking myself is this. Given the injuries and all, surely we should have picked up more than 5 points from the last 27 we played for?? Or are those starting 11 players in each of those 9 games, much more useless and less talented than the teams we played and underneath us?? If we lose against Everton, we will be right in the shitter. I'm trying to cling on to a glimmer of hope that we can find 14 to 16 points from the 51 remaining. Surely we can, but maybe we can with a different leader. I haven't felt like this for many many years and I remember when we were relegated in the 70s and the shit show in the 90s when an away win at Oldham I believe, pretty much saved us from the drop.
Ah yes the Oldham game at the third attempt 😅. First game called off with us on the M1; only at Watford Gap at least. Second one hired a taxi from where I was at a conference, about 40 miles away, only for them to cancel it just as I got to the ground😢.
Third and final attempt went up by train with no possibility of getting train back that night. Won the game and got a lift back although had to keep talking to the driver all the way home as he kept nodding off😲.

Usual lackluster performance at their place. How I yearn for the days of Pat Van Den Hauwe who always let that lot they were in for a game. That first 15-20 minutes was embarrassing in that nobody put their foot in on them and made them know we up for a fight. We have no leaders or passion. Can’t stand Gabriel but I’d like some of that passion and desire in our team.
Despite all that they weren’t all that. I can’t recall many saves from Kinksy. Their whole ethos is based around set pieces. It’s no wonder they have problems scoring goals from open play as they must spend the entirety of their training sessions practicing set plays.

As has been usual lately with our luck
they equalize from an OG at a corner that should have been a goal kick! Given where he was it’s incredible the referee can’t see the last touch was from Trossard.

Dissapointed by the lack of urgency and desire to get a goal in the last 10- 15 minutes.Too much fannying about at the back instead of getting the ball forward quickly. At one point we had a free kick at half way and 2 passes later it’s back with our GK!!! Porro twice failed to put in a decent cross when in good positions and Kulusevski refuses to use his right foot to put a cross in.

Whoever we buy this window and in the summer has to be players with some character and a winning mentality. Too many players with no backbone in the squad.

I know we are, but we’ve created the sum of fuck all in 180 minutes against them. Scoring from a half-cleared corner that deflected in. For a coach who’s supposed to be all out attack we have the bluntest attack you’ve ever seen unless the opposition is more naive than we are.
We can’t have the bluntest attack if only Liverpool have scored more goals than us!

He had reggy/spence/gray/bergvall/ sitting on the bench picking up minimal minutes

Dragon dropped for VDV/Romero to come straight back in

Lankshear not used to even give solanke some rest in games towards the end
I said in the early days of the season that to properly use your squad you need to change 2-3 players each game and make 2-3 substitutions around the hour mark in order to keep players fresh and give everyone minutes. We didn’t do that so when injuries hit we initially brought in players with little to no game time which made their integration difficult and then we ended up with nobody to rotate in and out.

There were times where we didn't look coached. Dragusin ambling over to Trossard before he scores, Bergvall having the opportunity to cross on the 18 yard box and turning 180 degrees to pass it back spring to mind.

It never fails to amuse me how people react.

We're a bottom half team that is devastated by injuries playing a top 4 team away and we only lost due to an own goal. I would have expected a 2 nil or similar loss when you look at where both teams are, yet people want to blame certain players and throw Ange under a bus, as long as there is some one to blame it makes them feel better.

Didn't we just beat the competition leaders a week ago ?
Jesus wept. I’ll leave you to your contentment.

You wake up, you see the feeds and you feel sick as bum hole eyes Tossard and buck face devil Gabriel gurn in the images of victory, then you make sure to shutdown all of that and move on.

Can't deny it hurts, realising how crap we were not to go in there with any passion or stomach for the fight it makes you so sick that the Gooners could have been brought down a peg or two instead what have we got to show for it yet again absolutely nothing! It's years now since we beat them.

These players must know this one means so much instead we're served up a weak, fragile and downright awful performance that fails to even threaten them!

Ange says we were too passive and if that's the case you start to question him because A) where's the motivation and B) why doesn't he have the ability to use fresh, hungry players from the very beginning instead of burning out the same old guard? I know there are a hell alot of injuries but what about those eager to show some fight on the big stage! Son is another who seems dead on his feet and anonymous despite the goal, he's happy to say it's not good enough, sorry same old shit!

As mentioned it's 90s Spurs and the rot is worryingly setting in big time in the league and Liverpool better win it, otherwise get use to Lego head and his band of set piece Stoke/Wimbledon of yester year specialists, lauding it with a sickening fear of the title in their hands which they won't deserve.

It's a bad start today I need to escape football till Sunday 😂

He didn't often at the hour mark, but I think he did give meaningful minutes to the squad before injuries hit.

Our first matches (not including 87+ minute subs):

Leicester: 4 players at 77 (the game went to 99)

Everton: 2 players at 67, 2 at 73

Newcastle: 1 at 45, 1 at 74 and 2 at 82

Arsenal: 2 at 68, 1 at 79

Brentford: 1 at 63, 1 at 70

Manchester United: 1 at 45 (injury), 3 at 76

Brighton: 2 at 76 (way too late)

West Ham: 1 at 45, 1 at 70, 2 at 80

Palace: 3 at 60

City: 5 players before minute 68

Villa: 3 at 60

Basically, I think he did that part fairly well across the pitch, but for some reason he didn't often change our fullbacks unless forced to. That has ruined both Udogie and Porro this season, imo.

Yep. With the ball with Bissouma at the half way on the left Porro cannot be halfway into their half leaving our right flank unguarded.
100%. Totally different game if we gone in to halftime at 1 each. It could have gone either way. These lads just don't seem to have any understanding of decision making and positioning needed to match game state. And we are talking about the more experienced ones! Glad you mentioned Porro as he is increasingly becoming a liability with his brain dead decision making at key points in games.

Watched the game back, a bit of fast forwarding. In truth lookimg at it objectively, we got hella lucky we didn’t get tanked, the 2-1 flatters us.

Not to mention that fooking tip tappy passing at the back between Kinsky, Gray and Spence petrified me!
