Bergvall was outstanding considering what he was asked to do. He's been head and shoulders better than Sarr, Bissouma and Bentancur of late and is the future of the club not a place holder like some of them. Gray was decent as well. The senior players should be hanging their heads in shame at how two kids are pissing on them right now.

Not sure how to rate the tactics because I'm not sure what they were tbh. Second half was a car crash as far as shape and game plan were
Agree with everything. I’d get a new CB in tomorrow, move Grey into CM alongside Bergval, Spence to RB. For me that improves 3 areas of the pitch.

not sure what else there is to add that hasn’t been said from every other match this season. We gave it a go and it could have been worse but that’s a sad indictment of where we have slumped too, so sad

Seriously though, we are in relegation form and tumbling fast towards the bottom
The question I keep asking myself is this. Given the injuries and all, surely we should have picked up more than 5 points from the last 27 we played for?? Or are those starting 11 players in each of those 9 games, much more useless and less talented than the teams we played and underneath us?? If we lose against Everton, we will be right in the shitter. I'm trying to cling on to a glimmer of hope that we can find 14 to 16 points from the 51 remaining. Surely we can, but maybe we can with a different leader. I haven't felt like this for many many years and I remember when we were relegated in the 70s and the shit show in the 90s when an away win at Oldham I believe, pretty much saved us from the drop.

At least our goal difference should be worth an extra point !
Funnily enough it does show how we've been able to take some teams to the cleaners but nobody other than Liverpool before Christmas has got close to doing that to us, we've only ever lost by a single goal and what that tells me is that we're a lot closer to not being where we are than the points tally leads people to believe.
What it suggests to me is not that we need wholesale changes just degrees of improvement such as returning first choice players and more suitable rotation players.

Let's talk injuries now, then. With Kinsky and Spence performing well we were arguably only missing our two centre backs in terms of a best first eleven being available. That's massive I grant you and I understand some players have been overplayed. But massive enough for us to be that dysfunctional?
Yes! Kinsky, Gray, Bergvall, Spence should all be understudies. Injuries are soo bad, that we are relying on them for our biggest and hardest game of the season.

Keep the faith. They will all come good and I still believe we have the man to do it.

No need for that. We can all see the team looks bad now but I believe with a few more first teamers back and one or two more signings in this window it will get better. The potential is clearly there as we are seeing with Spence, Gray, Bergvall, Solanke, Kulu. Just need a bit more around it. This is a huge rebuild job. Will need at least two more windows to fully turn around and to avoid more mistakes like Brennan Johnson who is clearly looking like a big waste of money.

The easy targets are there but that performance from Kulusevski was awful. He has been our player of the season but we needed him to turn up in a game like this.
He’ll be the next one on the treatment table in a couple of weeks, he’s being run into the ground as we don’t have anyone who can do what he does when he’s fit and not blowing out of his arse.
Doesn’t help when he’s then having to play in a different position every week.
One, maybe two of Deki, Solanke or Porro will be out for a while very soon.

Nine of our best players started today plus Gray (who has been great) and Dragusin - and we were still so poor. I see very little signs of decent coaching, tactical tweaking or invention and not much of a plan I'm afraid.

A Man Utd win against Southampton separates us from joint 15th place.

Who do we have coming in in the window to bolster the squad?
No one Nerine and if someone does come in you can guarantee that it will be another fucking bargain basement signing from some third tier league in the arsehole of Europe.

Levy has spent the whole window so far fucking around over Randal Kolo Muani who now seems Juve bound.

Profit before glory as always!!

This result, bar the opposition doesn't bother me, its that we seem to be cursed as a club for buying players that just shit out their brains as soon as they join us, we have dropped so many points this season by shitty mistakes over and over again.
That’s not bad luck, players have been allowed to be ok with losing and when the going gets tough they wilt. No coincidence that Spence, Bergval and Grey have been our best players of late….. none have been here long enough to become ‘infected’

No they didn't, I know we're caught up in the romance of our new young keeper but Vicario is still the best and so is Romero and VDV and Udogie and that's before we've even reached midfield where I propose Bentancur fits that bill. Just because the younger players have played some games doesn't suddenly make them the best players.

Arsenals entire strategy is based on a solid defence.

We had our 2nd choice keeper, 3rd and 4th CBs (maybe?) and our 3rd choice LB.

I’m generally alright about tonight, not happy, not overjoyed, but I think all things considered we did ok.

Young players are doing well, some of our senior pros not so much

Add to that those of them who are first choice players have been overplayed due to lack of rotation options. Porro, Solanke, Son, Kulusevski are all better than they showed today.

We just kept trying to do what we did for most of the game - failing to build the play from the back.

Bergvall was exceptional, doing it all on his own at points. Took responsibility and led the team.

No quality, or leaders around him (other than Gray) though

Vicario - very debatable as to whether he's better than Kinsky and some on here seem to agree.
Udogie - hasn't been as good as Spence this season
Bentancur hasn't been the same player since his injuries
I count Romero & VDV as the significant absentees along with players such as Moore and Oderbert who are clearly for the future.

9? When were missing Vicario, Udogie, VDV and Romero?

I love the youngsters and the fact that they are getting a chance, but untill they peak, they are our squad, not first teamers.
