Not a very good performance tonight against modest opposition. Let's hope they are saving themselves for Sunday. No coincidence that the best performances were from those who were playing for a place in our final line-up (Robbo, Tainio, Huddlestone and Zokora).

Robbo 7 - No chance with goal. Good save in the first half and an even better one in the second to keep out a free kick,

Tainio 7 - Good performance apart from some wayward passes

Woodgate 6 - Not up to his normal standard

Kaboul 5 - Average

Chimbonda 6 - O.k but what was he doing for the Slavia goal. As left back he lost possession on the right touchline. Two passes later the ball was crossed to where he should have been.

Lennon 5 - Ineffective

Huddlestone 7

Zokora 8 - Good performance with virtually no mistakes

O'Hara 6 - Curate's egg of a performance. A goal and a good cross from which Bent hit the bar but some poor play as well.

Berbatov 6

Bent 6

Subs

Keane 6

Jenas 5

Malbranque 5

Was playing at right back at the time and he was fouled on the halfway line. The goal was down to O'Hara, as was the case with the Man U goal a couple of weeks ago. The commentator mentioned that prior to the goal Ramos was screaming at him to get back, but it was too late!

Not slating him because I think he has great potential and always gives his best, but he has been found wanting on numerous occasions in terms of his positional sense when playing at full back.

He'll learn.

Thought Bent, Zokora and Robbo were our best.

Tainio and O'Hara were the worst of the starters.

The rest were very average and not as good as last week.

Steed was also very poor when he came on.

One eye (or both in some cases) on the final me thinks!

Onwards and upwards, we are now second fav's for the UEFA cup behind Bayern now that Athletico are out.

I reckon to win it we will need to beat Bayern, but we all knew that already I guess.

Robbo 6 - still reluctant to come for crosses. Cerny in goal on Sunday please, thanks

Tainio 6 - Ramos should have played Zokora at RB or even Lee, but Tainio, no.

Woodgate 6 - Played OK

Kaboul 6 - See above

Chimbonda 6 - Played ok

Lennon 5 - Ineffective

Huddlestone 6 - Poor positional sense most game, doesn't look like a CM to me.

Zokora 5 - I cannot believe someone gave this guy an 8. He is absolutely useless in central midfield and makes Huddlestone look like Zidane

O'Hara 5 - Everyone will remember his goal and block but apart from that he was and is shit IMO. So slow, so one footed, so exploitable, so Charlton Athletic.

Berbatov 6 - below standard.

Bent 6 - Unlucky tonight.

Subs

Keane - 5 below par

Jenas - 5 not enough time

Malbranque - 5 not his usual self

Chimbonda was at left back until he got subbed. It was his fault.

I haven't had the advantage of seeing a replay but Tainio was at right back. It didn't look like a foul to me (or the referee) when Chimbonda lost possession. Admittedly O'Hara should have been covering when Chimbo went walkabout but if he hadn't lost the ball it wouldn't have been a goal.

Tainio, Chimbonda, Lennon and the O'Hara who emerged after half time were poor. (5)
Hudd, Zoko, Steed, Berba and Keane were average. (6)
Kaboul, Robbo, Bent, Woody, the first half O'Hara and Jenas were decent. (7)

Think I've covered everyone there

A combination of resting players, sunday on peoples minds, caught between protecting a 1 goal lead and trying to add to it and an opposition who were actually better than given credit for made for a very frustrating night. Surprised that Tainio was preferred to the option of Chimbonda at right back and Lee at LB. Ratings:

Robinson 7 - One great save but still dithers and the ball across his 6 yard box for their goal was typical Robinson. Come out and get the fucking thing.

Tainio 6 - worked hard. 100% commitment but is not a RB and it showed.

Kaboul 7 - Did OK

Woodgate 7 - Did OK

Chimbonda 6.5 - Did OK

Lennon 6.5 - ho hum

Zokora 7.1 - Thought he was probably marginally our best player on the night, but more by default than anything else.

Huddlestone 6 - Games like this should be ideal for him but he was disapointing. When Slavia started pinging the ball about it was - as is often the case - leaving him leaden footed. His passing ability is great but he doesn't make himself available readily enough when others are in possession. Even his distribution was a bit disapointing tonight.

Ohara 6 - points for effort. His limitations are gradually revealing themselves.

Berbatov 4 - token effort

Bent 6 - points for effort. Is there anyone left who thinks that 16 million for a player of such limited ability was anything other than crazy. He does not fit in, in anyway with a side that wants to play football.

Keane 2 - The usual repatoire of ducking under, swerving round and jumping over every challenge. For Fuck sake someone take the arband off him. He is an embarresment to some of the many players that have laid their arses on the line to call themselves our captain.DogsOfWar said on the way out never has a player impressed him and irritated him in such equal measure. I concur.

Jenas 6 - effort and energy.

Bollocks. There were plenty of players to pin the goal on; Robbo was not one of them.

He had a good game - just fucking accept it.

I think Woodgate is not half the player at left centre back (luckily Ledders will have that position on Sunday with Woody reverting to his more effective position of Right Centre back)

Also thought Zokora was ineffective and may have played his was out of a cup final start.

also everyone should remember that O'Hara is a Centre mid doing a job to rest Malbranque
Imagine Zokora or Huddlestone playing right midfield would they do any better...

Us and Chelski both had poor games in midweek with the difference that our game is now over and we are in the next round.

Juande has said he is going to assess the players to see who is fittest to start the Final.

but i would expect these players to start

King, Woodgate, Hutton, Jenas, Malbranque, Lennon, Keane & Berba so just centre mid, left back and keeper places up for grabs, in a historical win for Spurs

Three times balls went into his six yard box without him coming and getting them. One ended up in a goal. If your stupid enough to think that making one meaningful save excuses his other deficiences then be my guest but it looks like Ramos thinks the same Bollocks as me doesn't it ?

i get the impression chimbo was told to play RB, Ohara to LB and TT into the midfield when they scored, but the message didnt get around the team quick enough, although as soon as we conceeded the plan was scrapped. Anyone think this may be the case? otherwise i have no idea why chimbo was in the LM possition instead of RB!

ratings, well I thought Hudd was very impressive in the first half, but disapeared in the second half. Bent was unlucky, but kept passing backwards instead of taking people on - so frustrating, but he just needs some confidence. Thought Kaboul looked good and robbo looked comfortable, nice to have a keeper who can kick.

so Robbo, Hudd, Kaboul 6.5
everyone else 5.5
(cant really be arsed to rate properly, its late!)

bus man i agree about some of the other balls in the box but not the one for the goal. It was a cracking cross hit with real pace, no keeper in the world couldve reached it. There were other cases where he shoulda come and collected the ball though. So youre both right!

I thought Robbo was poor (disinterested might be the right word) until he made the good save on the free and then he really seemed to find his confidence. I think it was good for him.

I was really appreciative of Bents workrate and saw something I hadn't seen in him in his time at Spurs that made me think he might make it after all.

Chimbonda was at left back until he got subbed. It was his fault.

Chimbo lost the ball on the right wing. He went down wanting a foul, ref waved play on, they brought the ball down the right side of the field, Chimbo began to run back. Their player crossed the ball with his left foot across the face of the goal, it beat woody and the first attacker, the goal was scored when the player got ahead of O'Hara at the back post in the left back position.

I don't know why Chimbo was over the near side but that is where he was and that is where O'Hara was.

Gilberto has not played for us or in the EPL for that matter. Do you believe it is wise to play him? I would play Lee. Dont know why Ramos (or others) do not rate him but up until very recently it was between him and Malbrangue who were our most consistent players. Not flash but reasonably Steady.

The other point is in my opinion Hudd is a very, very average midfielder. Didint you see how wanting he was last night? Very slow and immobile. Take away his passing and shooting, which were absent yesterday BTW, and you have nothing. Play him and Chelsea will have him for breakfast.

Zokora 8???

He was fucking useless. He really was. He's not a central midfield player. No tracking back, passing astray. Were people at the same game? Incredible.

I'd been singing his praises recently too, but that was an all too familiar Zokora midfield performance.

Him and Huddlestone don't and never will work as a pairing.

Thought Bent got maligned for a load of good stuff he did. Won lots of headers - great little lofted header that got tipped onto the bar, and unlucky right at the end with the bar denying him for the second time.

I don't know what the guy has to do before some people come round to him, I thought he did well last night. [That's more aimed at some supporters than others on here]

We didn't get out of second gear all night. The curse of the early goal. In our last two home games (the Scum 5-1 and last night) we've shown the complete polar opposites of how an early goal (for us) affects the team. One game we go on to annihilate the opposition, another we sit back and switch off.

We had one eye on Wembley, and that was obvious for all.

Credit to Tainio for getting stuck in, Kaboul was getting confused about when to play and when to hoof - neither being very effective. Robbo was awesome - and the fans were awesome to him - one of the loudest England's Number One renditions for ages.

The rest were 'meh' at best.
