Agree in general.
If & when we play Chelsea, we cant afford to play young players or B team - we got to go for them with our best XI. At same time, got to travel with same squad for final qualifying.
Depends on the relative fixtures doesn't it. Next round you tip the balance a bit more evenly so we have a slightly stronger squad for the League Cup match against Chelsea should we get through. I doubt it's possible to be full strength for both but we can certainly put two teams out that are more than capable of winning both games now which is good. Just noticed from my initial list i've forgotten Aurier and technically even Rose can still play for us.

Now we have Bale for example we can split up Son and Kane for each of those future games and i'd for sure make GLC features v Chelsea. Possibly you have a situation where Ndombele plays on the bench in both where he could give 30 mins in each. There's a lot of options thankfully.

Mirror saying we are not going to play Bale till West Ham trip (Oct 17), coz he will go through a fitness program to get fit

I'd disagree with that when you can unleash him against Orient. I'm no medical expert but he can't be that unfit, it must be just a lack of match practice.

Perfect game for him to get some fitness for 30-60 mins.

Not sure if your list is updated one...From what I understand from UEFA website, Group 1 to 3 seeded go against Group 1 to 3 unseeded. But we are in Group 4, where group 4 seeded goes against Group 4 unseeded.

By this, I believe our potential opponents are

Rostov (RUS) or Maccabi Haifa (ISR),
Willem II (NED) or Rangers(SCO),
Fehervar (HUN) or Reims (FRA),
FCSB (Rou) or Slovan Liberec (CZE)

Yep they did a pre-draw overnight.

From that list Steaua/Slovan would likely be the easiest from a qualification process (Steaua had a 6-6 draw and won on pens last night)
Reims finished above Champions League Semi-finalists Lyon in truncated French League last year
Rostov would be reasonably tricky, but more from a logistics point of view if we are away from home.
Rangers would be a difficult tie. Currently played 7 games and have not conceded a goal yet (a Scottish record) Gerrard got them playing well.

Avoiding Milan and Granada certainly helps, but can not see us getting through tie without playing very strong team, and that team playing a lot better than we have done so far.

they should have dropped the league cup for this season
There was some talk of the clubs in CL and Europa forfeiting the League Cup this season but for probably contractual reasons that never happened.

I would love for the League Cup to be revamped like that full time tbh. No teams need to be in more than three competitions.

Group 4
Seeded

1 Galatasaray (TUR) / Hajduk Split (CRO)
2 Shkëndija (MKD) / Tottenham (ENG)
3 Standard Liège (BEL) / Vojvodina (SRB)
4 APOEL (CYP) / Zrinjski (BIH)

Unseeded
5 Rostov (RUS) / Maccabi Haifa (ISR)
6 Willem II (NED) / Rangers (SCO)
7 Fehérvár (HUN) / Reims (FRA)
8 FCSB (ROU) / Slovan Liberec (CZE)

Avoiding Milan is certainly the big one. Let's not draw Rostov/Haifa away, any other draw is alright by me.
Galatasaray would be fun. Have we ever played them in a competitive match?

Finally a bit of luck. Rostov and Haifa especially are both a fair bit further than Macedonia or Bulgaria even. Israel would be a ~5 hr flight.

So win next and this game and we’re through?
Probably one of the best draws we could’ve gotten tbh
Win those two and it's finally group stage time.

Home draw against a team with a long way to travel is very good for us. That matchup but with us away was the worst case scenario but at home possibly the best.

This game in between Chelsea and united, so important it’s at home

Great draw especially as it might mean we can risk playing a not total second string against Chelscum
