Next year there will be three european competition's the champions league / the Europa League / the intermediate Europa league .
The champions league group stage third team will no longer drop down to the europa league / but the Europa League third team in the group stage will drop into the intermediate Europa League knockout phase. I just hope that with these changes there will be much fewer qualifying matches .
But EUFA on past decisions will not go out of their way to ease congestion of matches like Spurs are going thru at least I won't be holding my breath .

The Champions League 3rd place teams still drop down. But there are indeed fewer Europa Qualifying matches, and no English teams would play in them. The Europa group winners would also go straight to the R16 rather than the R32, which is now a playoff between the group runners-up and the UCL drop-downs. Finally, it's reduced to 32 teams, meaning higher average quality and less trips to Kazakhstan etc. However, there'd only be 2 English teams, and we wouldn't have been one of them - we'd have played in the new tournament, the Europa Conference League. There's only one qualifier for English clubs and the format is the same as the Europa, but it's less lucrative, mostly crap teams, and winning it gives you a Europa rather than CL spot.

With Leyton Orient stricken with Corona virus, what's the protocol for the Europa League? Is there mandatory testing for participating clubs? KF Shkëndija played at the weekend - will they have been tested before playing us? Is there a risk to our players and staff?

Yes all teams are tested.
A couple of teams have had already had to forfeit due to failing tests

UEFA just changed the Europa Cup rules.
For rest of season 5 subs can be used in both Europa and Champs League

I thought we qualified for the group stage after this game but apparently there’s another one, is that right?
