SUNDERLAND fans make the biggest racket in the Premier League, a study shows.

The North East supporters, known as Mackems, came top of the first survey into the sound level and frequency of chants.

The average peak volume at their Stadium of Light hit 129.2 decibels – almost as loud as a jet.

It will be music to the ears of boss Roy Keane, especially as his former club Man Utd – despite having a far bigger stadium – trailed in 17th. And Liverpool, with their famous Kop, came 16th.

Everton fans chant the most, said the study commissioned by phone numbers service 118 118. Fulham’s are the quietest.

Honestly that looks a bit suspect. Most of our noise comes from a small corner rather than the entire ground and even then we're quiet for long period. Pompey do a good job, almost constant noise

It's amazing how loud you can be when you're yelling obscenities at your team for being catshit :D
