Spurs cock-up of the decade

Getting to the CL final was undoubtedly the most memorable achievement of the decade. The City and Ajax ties were pure Spurs, schoolboys own stuff. Won't be forgotten in a hurry.

Which makes the timidity of the final such a cock up.

The timing of the move from WHL was nobody's fault in particular, but you can imagine what another season for Poch and his team might've meant to us. 86 points. Almost invincible that season. What a cock to have to move at that particular point.

And what a near miss to have been competing with west ham for the freebie stadium in East London. Fuck my old boots, we avoided a right mess there. Even if Levys plan was to tear it down anyway.

Agree 4th place but no CL because of Chelsea was awful as was not buying anyone in summer pf 2018.
But for Ref robbery this was up there with Mendes goal against Utd.
How did this happen? How?
And this is why we have VAR lol.

Two words: Vlad Chiriches.

To be fair, it's always difficult for a foreign defender to find his feet in the Premier League.

That noted, Vlad found it difficult to find his feet elsewhere too.

As you may recall from this video clip of our 'spirited' Romanian...

The final was the opposite of ‘to dare is to do’

It’s like we forgot Liverpool had been gifted a dodgy penalty after 28 seconds and we were actually behind. It was played out like a pre-season friendly, which I suspect the scousers loved because they were shit and there for the taking 100%. Full of nerves

For all his flaws, I’d like to have seen Redknapp managing that team for the second half. He’d have thrown everything at it!

Very true he certainly wouldn't have entertained this passive passing backwards and sideways shit that got us nowhere which the scousers knew we would do.

Doesn't matter how good or bad things are going or who's in our team, our propensity to pull a ridiculous cock up out of thin air never fails to astound me. Too many to mention but many a laugh from this thread already.

I came on here to say that the final itself was a cock up. It was a wimper of a performance of epic proportions. Liverscum werent good either but they didnt need to a sthey were 1-0 up (regardless of the shitness of the decision which it was)

I think that was the biggest cock up not only of the decade but the last 20-30 years... since ive been a spurs fan

Letting Dembele get old or at least letting him leave in January. If we never played him but wheeled him out for the CL final, we would have won it.

He wanted to leave

I thought he said his body couldn’t cope with the strain of the Prem anymore? I’m sure he wouldn’t have been too upset if he had to play for half a season longer and play in a CL final.
