Got an email from NFL shop promoting these (in NFL colours) and thought it was pretty crass.

I think this is too tbh.

I really don't like the idea of companies who are not involved with medical supplies jumping on the pandemic to make money, especially if said mask is nothing more then a thin peace of cloth that won't have any protection benefits. I find it poor taste. If all proceeds were going towards a worthy cause then thats a different matter however.

How is it any different from selling a rainjacket? Ultimately the virus is going to be with us for some time, perhaps forever.

Companies that sell medical supplies are still companies that exist to make a profit. They're aren't charities. They're trying to make a profit from illness, including coronavirus.

I don't see any conceptual difference between a company selling facemasks without a logo (which presumably no one has any problem with) and a company selling facemasks with a logo.

I agree it would be nice if the money from buying masks went to charity, but sadly that isn't how capitalism works.

If people really feel the need to buy a mask with a Spurs logo, at least the money is going to our club and not some other corporation.

agree, does annoy me how people are so against stuff like this. If you dont want to buy it then dont. There is definitely a shortage of masks about and the ones that do sell them charge huge amounts
