That was Sonny's first Premier League hat trick? Huh, I just kind of assumed he already had several.

Much better from us in the second half. We moved the ball forward quicker, with more intent, and Lo Celso was brilliant in controlling things. Plaudits will obviously go to Son/ Kane, but Ndombele also deserves some credit too for his part in our equalising goal.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend all!

Much better second half, absolute clinic of finishing 1 on 1s from Sonny. Assisted by Saints catastrophic tactics though, its gotta be said.

Must spread some confidence through the team..........COYS!!
They weren't catastrophic tactics. It is how they play every game and normally with good success, we just exploited it so well in the second half. But, we need to play more like that, in the second half we were quicker on the ball, we were looking for options, not just trying to play long balls into space hoping that someone will connect to them. Our players can play, even our defensive ones, Jose needs to give them that opportunity.

The rule should be that if your hand was in a natural position and.you couldn't get it out of the way, it shouldn't be a handball. The current rule seems like it was designed to destroy VAR as people who like football can only be disgusted by it.
They are just digging a bigger and bigger hole

Was PEH any good in the end?

Some of his performances have been a bit worrying so far although could also be he is settling in.

Also defence still a massive concern, our centre backs just don’t seem good enough and was Doherty okay in the end?

We won due to having two world class players up top and fortunately Lo Celso seems to be coming good as long as he can stay fit! (And with a Ndombele perhaps alongside him, depending on team balance).

Obviously Bale to come in too and we could end up like Barca when they had Messi, Neymar and Suarez just basically winning stuff for them but defence and holding midfield still a concern, especially as we splashing on PEH.

World of difference from the Everton game just a week ago.

Having a fit and on-form Ndombele and Lo Celso will be a complete game-changer for us.

Defence is a concern, if we are going to go with three CBs once Reguilon plays, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see us sign two new CBs during the remainder of this window and January.

Tanganga will hopefully be back soon but I question the reliability of Dier and Sanchez, and we have to start contingency planning for life without Toby.

The uproar from some at jose for taking of ndom. Seemed he knew what he was doing and we finally got a gamplan from him. Take advantage of their high line.

Generally think people need to re-visit page 30 ish and realise that the players still obviously need a roasting in order to play well. It's the only common theme with us tbh.

It is an offence if a player:
  • deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, including moving the hand/arm towards the ball Nope not deliberate
  • scores in the opponents’ goal directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper Nope
  • after the ball has touched their or a team-mate’s hand/arm, even if accidental, immediately:
    • scores in the opponents’ goal Nope
    • creates a goal-scoring opportunity Nope
  • touches the ball with their hand/arm when:
    • the hand/arm has made their body unnaturally bigger This one is very debatable, he isn't attempting to make himself bigger, there is actually more chance it hits his hand in that situation if his arm is lower and by his side.
    • the hand/arm is above/beyond their shoulder level (unless the player deliberately plays the ball which then touches their hand/arm Maybe? Looked shoulder level to me.
The above offences apply even if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from the head or body (including the foot) of another player who is close.

Except for the above offences, it is not an offence if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm
  • directly from the head or body (including the foot) of another player who is close Seems to me he was pretty close...
Ludicrous rule and ridiculous to give that penalty in my opinion.

Sonny saying shame it wasn't more than 5 I love it ???
If he'd have managed to take that last opportunity where he just ran out of space and time, he'd have been on for a double hatrick for the last 15 mins.

Incredible.

That new handball law is ridiculous. Doherty is marking the player and it's deflected onto him. Absolutely ludicrous. United yesterday wasn't either. Stupid.

Agreed. Fill up your fantasy team with penalty takers - there are going to be loads this year!
