The south coast club are set to land defender Walker-Peters on an initial loan with talks ongoing over whether the deal will also include an option or obligation to buy for a fee of around £12m.

Whatever it is I'm.sure Levy will make sure we dont lose out!

Shame he did not develop quick enough for what we need how ever not all academy players will be a 'Kane'.

Really gutted he hasn’t made the grade with us

Agree with you, he's a great lad, works hard, bid his time and did what was asked of him. It's a real shame that when he previously got a chance and shone he wasn't given further opportunities.

I'm a huge fan of Poch and didn't want him to go, but in KWP's case I don't feel Poch did him any favours. Should have been given a year out on loan and then come back with experience.

If he does go I'll be wishing him all the best, you can see how much he loved playing for the club, his smile was infectious

Gutted isn’t the word I’d use, but i get the sentiment.
Am actually pleased he is able to get a move to another prem club.
Modern football isn’t about making it with one club or not, it’s about trying and then hopefully finding an opportunity at an appropriate and hopefully decent level.

Most of our youth players will end up having far less favorable outcomes than this, so more power to you KWP, and hope you do well.

Southampton sounds like a decent club for him to go, stick in a buy back clause and it’s a good move for all

We'd never use it anyway.

I like KWP's application and desire, but physically he's just not where a Premier League defender needs to be at.

This for me was a huge failing on Pochs part. Just never played him consistently even when he played well.

When Trippier was having a mare in his final season, that was the time to give KWP 10 games to see what he can do. Or loan him out.

He needs to add about 5 kg of lean mass to his frame and a whole lot more aggression

It’s great when youth team players come through and become genuine first team players, KWP just seems a level below our current standards.

Agree, but even then his height will always give him problems as a defensive player. He doesn't have a particular spring in his step either, like say Lucas does.

Whilst he seemed to do well when picked (Newcastle a and Bournemouth h spring to mind), the fact is he's not convinced Poch and now Mourinho is good enough for me.
They see him in training every day and can judge whether he can be a first choice full back for a team challenging for top 4.
