Surprised they actually had the nuts to what's right. Was fully expecting them to back Atkinson, so fair play to them.

To be fair to Atkinson the rush of emotion probably skewed his decision. The players themselves were visibly upset by it, we’ve got to accept that he acted on that too. A bit of distance gave common sense some space. The only tragedy in the long run lies with the injury itself.

Isn’t that why the var crew are stuck in a unit at Heathrow so that they can give an unemotional view. Wasters the lot of them. Spurs lose out as usual.

At some point, someone's going to take these decisions further, and say that the error cost their team the points - challenging the result or insisting the game is replayed (or the final few minutes anyway).
I just wonder whether our Daniel will be that person.

It's a moot point as to whether we would have held onto the lead had Son not been sent off, looking at it on paper, it is easy and tempting to jump to the conclusion that it was more likely with 10 as opposed to 11 players. When you look at our poor record this season in terms of shutting teams when put under pressure it's debatable that we would have done, even if there were approximately 15 mins to go, 79 mins plus additional time for stoppages. Given the distraught state that Son was in, even if he had been given a yellow card it's highly likely that he would have to have been subbed almost immediately, as would Aurier.

Sessegnon would have not got his one minute on the pitch.

I do think a sense of perspective needs to be given here and Dougal's earlier post gave that sense of perspective, in that in the long run Everton have lost out in a far bigger way than we have and we should acknowledge that.

One point not covered in this successful appeal, I'm presuming that they have substituted the red card for a yellow card, as that should be the correct course to take so it's on record as far cards go on the totting up procedure before suspensions might be imposed.

Very much doubt there is a good argument for saying that the red card was the sole reason for why we didn't win, as it took them quite a long time and much toil to score even after the red card. A draw was also a fair result. Let it go.

For one I'm really pleased this has been done. I was starting to lose interest in football with the way its been going over the past few years (Not Spurs as such but the way the game is changing). I loathe the FA who always seem to choose the wrong way to do things and never 'own' their fuck ups, so this is a breathe of fresh air!!

Well if that's the case, emotion skewed the decision, where was VAR to overturn the wrong decision? or was VAR emotionally affected as well!

Yeah, VAR isn’t very good, not sure if that’s been covered?

You do know that VAR isn’t artificial intelligence, right?

I doubt the VAR team wanted to watch that replay...

I wanted to watch it, and was more angry about Sky avoiding to show it than the red itself (which also had me supper annoyed).

You know there would have been kids watching. They're never going to show incidents like that to appease the rubber neckers.
