He wants to go now, who will it be next Giggs perhaps?. If Scholes had any playing part left he'll be off too I expect.

In my eyes, this news makes it seem more likely that Moyes is going to be the new manager. Wasn't there a court case involving these two a few years ago?

Exodus? I'm not sure that'll happen. I reckon there will be no more than the natural turnover of players.

we could never afford his wages, but imagine him at spurs ...

This does definitely suggest Moyes is taking over. The pair of them fell out after Rooney moved to United.
Be interesting to see where he goes. Can't see it being another English team as only City & Chelsea could afford him and neither need him if you look at their rumoured targets. Can see it being PSG or Bayern.

As for "exodus", no chance. Moyes will keep Giggs and add him to the coaching staff in order to have some continuation and I suspect same will happen with Scholes.
Question is, do Felliaini and Baines join United???

Good point Fellani is one of Moyes favourites.

I can see Rooney and Rio moving on this summer, with Scholes retiring again. If I was Moyes I'd be desperate for Giggs to stay on another season, he's the senior figure in the dressing room now for all intents and purposes and providing Moyes can get him on side he'd be an invaluable asset.

Hernandez may move to Madrid as part of the Ronaldo deal and for most people, possibly Moyes included, the jury is still out on Danny Welbeck.

Other than that I agree with A&C - I can't see an exodus. Few ins, few obvious outs, that's about it. They've just won the league and humiliated City in the process, they don't need a manager to come in and reinvent the wheel just yet.

Felaini and Baines will join Moyes at Ynited imo. Decent additions already and players will still queue up to play for Yanited. They'll be reet.

A move away will do Rooney some good, he's still a very good player but is in danger of stagnating. The same routine, same style, same role.. season after season. A move could help him develop further.

I genuinely think Rooney is one of the most overrated players of the Premier League era. The odd flash of brilliance, but i'm pretty sure he wouldn't be so highly regarded if he wasn't English.

I reckon Rooney will go to PSG and that'll be the beginning of a big decline in his career.

At one point I really thought he was going to go on and become one of the best players in the world but I think he's been badly advised by Stretford and co and where once he was all about the football, I'm not sure that's the case anymore.

United don't need him so if he's off I don't think they'll be too worried.

I can't see Rooney coping with Scotland, never mind abroad. Can only go downhill from here if he does go imo.

I don't think Fellaini will go, I feel he's far too hot headed and indisciplined for Man U. I think Baines will join him though, a natural successor to Evra, with possibly a couple moving int he opposite direction. Wellbeck could go to Everton, with maybe a youngster or two. Kenwright will naturally be gutted that he can't get any compo out of the deal but surely he'll get something, just out of gratitude. Wouldn't surprise me either to see Phil Neville join him on the staff, would also be good to see that sour puss Mike Phelan off our screens as well.

Seeing as every man and his dog has commented on his departure, why haven't we heard from their two most famous fans. The Sikhs who sit next to the bench every game, they must have views on who they want.

I agree with KK about Rooney, and i've a feeling Fergie does too, which is why he's never nailed down an absolute position in the team. Past few games, when he's been picked that is, he's played him in midfield, how often have we seen a player fall out of favour with fergie and then moved on. Also, Him and Moyes had a doo-daa in 06, rooney wrote something nasty about him in his book and moyes sued and was paid damages.

I still find it amazing that Rooney managed to write a book.

Rooney has supposedly stated that he doesn't want to move abroad... "The Croxteth-born forward would prefer to stay in the Premier League, which makes Chelsea the outstanding candidate, although United will be reluctant to sell to a team determined to compete for the title again."... http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/05/09/wayne-rooney-leave-united_n_3242597.html?utm_hp_ref=uk

That said, according to this, he's told team-mates that he wants to join Bayern Munich... http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/0...-wants-to-sign-for-bayern-munich-this-summer/

Disagree - as an out and out striker he's outstanding, but Fergie started to play him other positions.
Stick him up front for us with Bale, Lennon & Dembele supplying passes and he'd bang them in.

I tend to agree with you, Walkerboy.. Not only that, but as his speed & goalscoring ability diminishes, he's got the ability to play the deeper role of supporting striker, or even as an out & out centre midfielder. It's just a shame there's no way in hell that we could afford him, or even be an attractive option for him.

There will be no Exodus.
And Moyes could easily bring the few good players with him from Everton, who will be in no financial position to say no.

What it might do though is dissuade the likes of Ronaldo from returning, as do you want to join a promising manager but not a know winner?

Assuming it is Moyes of course, yesterday i thought not, but there seems to be too much media suggesting it is, so I guess I have to go with that concept for now.
