Some of the safety shots by both players were ridiculously good in that last frame. 2 superb finishes to the matches today

That last frame of Mcgill Wilson was just pure drama and a spectacle. The best frame ever in my mind... Perhaps not in terms of quality but drama

Ronnie is a strange one. I don't even know how he won that match... I mean you kinda end up here at 17 16 and go erm how... He just turns it on when he wants... I really like selby and I know he isn't the most entertaining but fuck me ronnie in those last three frames was just unreal

Don't think Selby has a valid point that Ronnie smashing his way out of snookers is disrespectful: if anything, smashing the ball like that should on balance be worse for O'Sullivan than it is for Selby, and it's then up to Selby to capitalise on that. If Ronnie wants to trust to luck rather than planning/skill when smashing the balls, it's Selby's job to punish that and he can't complain if the balls break in his opponent's favour when Ronnie has actively given up trying to control the frame.

Haven’t seen Selby’s interview but I dislike the fella so if he’s pissed I doth my cap to O’Sullivan. Personally I don’t like how he often comes back to the table needing 3 or 4 snookers just to disrupt his opponent’s rhythm. Also - and of equal importance - he looks like a murderer and is from Leicester, a place I hate.

Well done Ronnie.

Have now read Selby’s interview - what a tit. Truth is he shies away from the sort of shots that won Ronnie that match and opts for safety. There were 2 or 3 shots in the final 2 frames where Selby declined a long pot - what always made Hendry great was the attitude that the only way to control the table was to pot the balls. That attitude turned the match for Ronnie tonight - fair play to him.

Total sour grapes. I’ve seen Selby in the past take about 5 minutes to make up his mind over a shot that really didn’t need it. You could argue that’s deliberately trying to upset the other players rhythm and is also disrespectful in it’s own way.

As for the other stuff about standing in his eye line, only Ronnie would know if that’s deliberate, but Selby just sounded like a bad loser to be honest.

I actually had a tenner on Selby at 6/1 for the tournament, but I’m still glad he lost. He’s a great player, but bores the shit out of me.

I also find Ronnie’s trolling in interviews funny. Sometimes he steps over the line ( like what he said about the younger players in the game the other day), but mostly he just refuses to dance to the media’s tune of what they expect and want him to say.

He’s a genius, pure and simple.

It’s all about the cue action :D.

Selby is such a bore. I know the game is called snooker but his entire game is built upon snookers. I much prefer positive players. Glad attacking snooker won tonight.

Be nice if Kyren won, feels like he could be dominant in the next few years along with Judd.

This has been such a scrappy match so far. Both players missing shots that you wouldn't expect two World Championship finalists to mess up, but Ronnie still looks a threat when he's amongst the balls and Wilson doesn't. Final scoreline looks like it may get ugly at this rate.

Even by Ronnie’s usual standards of erratic judgment and shot selection, that frame was bizarre.

Still a chance of Kyren Wilson making a game of this but wouldn’t expect there to be much snooker needed tomorrow evening.

Neil Robertson on twitter saying this is the worst one table setup he has seen and thinks its the humidity. When they play in hotter countries they use a special cloth apparently.

Think that is why Ronnie potted those balls in the last frame, get used to this cloth.
