calciomercato is about as reliable as the Mirror.
they had us swapping Lamela for Brozic.

The deal breaker here is = Poch
Nobodys going anywhere.
Just dug up my old post on Glory Glory on this issue, when the release clause rumour first came about. It's as true now as it was then:
Sorry....people thought that DANIEL LEVY, the guy who got Luka Modric to sign a contract extension based on a "gentleman's agreement" and then told him he'd rather let him rot in the reserves than sell him to Chelsea until he eventually got his head down and started playing again, would accept a release clause of less than what City paid for either Mangala or Otamdendi, for TOBY ALDERWEIRELD?
I really despair for the world. There's an acceptable level of stupid in any society but it's 2016 and we have far too many people pushing well beyond it these days.
There is no such thing as a sensible release clauseYou're telling me you wouldn't sign Messi on the condition he has a sensible release clause?
Toby is the Messi of centre backs.
Al-der-weir-eld's silver hammer came down on his head...Maybe it is because we don't have a song for him and he feels left out so wants to leave. Likewise Walker.
Al-der-weir-eld's silver hammer came down on his head...
Just need all the rest of the words now
ok, I'll rephrase it. A sum of money that would allow that player to move to a bigger club should certain conditions be met. There is no such thing as a sensible release clause
Maybe fitting when we put the final nail in Wilshere's coffin next year when he returns with West Ham?Al-der-weir-eld's silver hammer made sure that he was dead?
Not the most cheerful tune when you think about it.

Transfer fees are getting so ridiculous now that clubs can hold players to ransom. A player Might think "yeah, I'll go and play for Spurs, but not if they won't let me join Madrid for any less than €100m"
I'd take a player that could win us the league and give him that clause. As long as there's no loss and a sell on clause Why would you turn down the best players in the world?
Because they can leave as soon as someone wants them, this destabilises the club. Lets say that Janssen had a £25mil release clause and is tearing it up next season, scores 21 by Christmas and Kane can't even get a look in. Bayern/Barca/Man United/Real/City or even Arsenal decide in January that they want a bit of that, for him an extra £50k a week and boom, there goes an on fire striker for peanuts.
No club can hold a player to ransom, if they're that set on leaving they can buy out their contract or just run down their contract and leave on a free.
A player wants the riches that come with playing at the top level, a contract where their employer dictates the value of the player/asset is the cost of doing business, it protects the clubs, enabling them to continue to offer high wages and ensures that the system works.
I wouldn't give any player a release clause.
But to get the best player to come, I'd give them a well worded one.
