Christian Eriksen has started to shine under Tim Sherwood and has been excellent for the last couple of months after a largely disappointing season.

The stuff about continuous improvement is the most interesting thing in that article.

It's amazing that eriksen stands out in that respect.

Where are Kane, Townsend, Rose, Bentaleb, Fryers etc. these boys should be so motivated right now to improve and work as hard as possible. They have a genuine chance to become Spurs regulars if they improve continuously.

I would have pitched a fucking tent at the training ground and be sleeping there if it was me.

It's generally worked out well so far having him there tbh.
Be interesting to see if he moves infield or further up though.

psst! Timbo - you're the manager now, if you don't want him to play wide, stop fielding him there? Just saying... y'know.
To be fair, the team's formation has been hamstrung by the lack of a credible left-sided players, which is a legacy of last summer's transfer dealings, i.e. we lost Bale and BAE and ended up with a big vacuum on the left, which someone's had to cover.
I can only pray that the club recognises that it desperately needs a capable LB, and that Rose and BAE are not the answer.

At the mo eriksen is playing on the left but more as a inside left ....but with him drifting inside it does leave us light down the left and the width has to come from the fullback and in our case its danny rose.
Rose is a OK player but for where we want to be we need better.....but its hard finding a good LB that can also get forward and put decent crosses in or if not ....dam expensive.
I think for the time being moving eriksen into a central role would be costly for us,because he will struggle with the tackling side of it.
It took modders a while to get use to that role and in the end .....he was dam good and eriksen could be aswell ( in time ).

IMHO I think with the players we have,we're better off playing a 4-3-2-1 formation with the fullbacks playing as wingbacks and the 2 playing as a front 3 when attacking and making the midfield a 5 when defending.
Ade upfrt and eriksen to the left and Lamela on the right ( yes that guy lol ) And the middle 3 would be sandro, dembele and Paulinho.
Them 3 in the middle would give us a nice balance, decent at passing, strong, can keep the ball and can tackle.....the 3 cover everything that's needed.

Fullbacks with who we have at the mo would have to be walker and rose and central two Kaboul and Verts ( if we get the old verts back ).

Really think when all them players our fit and their confidence is back .....that is a winning team.

Credit to Sherwood - he's played Eriksen very well. Interestingly compares him to Modric (who also started out on the left) but also mentions that Eriksen should be kept away from the scrappy part of the game. To a large extent I agree with this (although Eriksen does pressure well) but Modric did get involved with that part of the game - a tenacious presence in the midfield for such an apparently small player!

The first clip I saw of Modric was in pre season the summer he signed. A player was being interviewed in the foreground, a training match was happening in the background. Some one got the ball then suddenly Modric came hurling in full speed, took the ball and kicked the (considerably larger) player up in the air.
Loved him straight away.

Rat faced little ****.
