I think we all would have but you can't take today's results as proof of what would have happened if we'd won on Tuesday.

I fervently disagree with those who supported City but you can't really take anything from the way things have played out today.
Spot on. If we’d got a draw or win be city then Villa would’ve likely turned up vs palace.

A bit gutted we didn't gutted we didn't make Champions league in the end as only 2 points away which we could have easily got if we've won one or even draw some of the games in our last 6/7 games
You also have to look at the other side of the coin which was the numerous late winners we got (Sheff Utd, Liverpool, Brighton, Luton etc)

Not so sure to this moment that that wasn't violent conduct. just rewatched it several times and there is one angle on the red card that makes it look like an elbow was thrown into Sonny's chest.
Really strange. I thought a knee or punch to the stomach/chest. But Son limps away. The ref gave the red to the wrong player anyway, but then didn't do anything about the incident.

I understand people saying "but at least we'd have had a chance" had we beaten City, but I think what you've said is the absolute bottom line.

Villa have had a ridiculously long season, some of their players have played 50+ games, it's no wonder they got absolutely tonked as soon as the pressure was off them. Make no mistake about it they'd have fought tooth and nail for the final point/s yesterday if they still needed them.

I have got a very good feeling about us genuinely winning a trophy next season. The players have definitely bought into the style and when we are free flowing we look so good to watch. A few quality additions with added ruthlessness both and the back and up top can definitely take us to success.

On the game itself, I have no idea how we didn't score 5 or 6. It was a very positive way to end the season especially after our recent struggles. So happy to see us playing that dynamic football again but we must be more consistent next season.

Of course it's a what if scenario, but given both clubs recent form Palace may still have won even if wasn't 5-0. I don't think Villa had been great for weeks even with something to fight for/hold on to.
