I'd be very surprised if we've even made a bid.

The Atletico president said last week that he'd rejected offers from Chelsea and Madrid for Aguero, which has been denied by both clubs. I reckon the guy's just trying to come across a hero by rebuffing fake offers for his star player...

If Levy/ Redknapp have decided to chase a small-ish, mobile striker, it makes no sense to be chasing Aguero at £40m when we had the opportunity to pay £20m for Suarez

The thing is, if we have made a bid so astronomically high (would it be a British transfer record?) it would suggest we are deadly serious about signing this guy, and a hell of a lot of thought would have gone into it. You would then have thought that if it was a case of being a few million off, we'd just up it. If they want £5m more for example, why wouldn't we just pay it? It wouldn't make any sense not to.

If the report in the Mirror is accurate (I know, right?) and we matched the buy-out clause but wouldn't pay some sort of tax add-on it all seems like a rather pointless, posturing bid...
