Stay out of EL and just put on midweek events at the new stadium to earn the money back. We can then win the domestic double ;)

My biggest frustration has been how shit we were in the Europa league. Look at how other English sides have done in recent years. People used to say its a mickey mouse competition but only we see it that way. Personally think its a bit of a disgrace that despite having maybe 10 goes at the UEFA/Europa Cup in recent history we never got close to winning it.

If we get it we better give it a good go.

Worst case at least use it as a good chance to play the most exiting youth with some of the first xII. Then as it gets more serious and we aren't travelling to Tajikistan start playing the full team more and keep anyone that showed they deserve it. I do miss the days when we would give are promising youngsters a good run out. I remember seeing Kanes first game and also the likes of Fredericks and Andross at that point!

voted yes because if we're in it you can bet your ass jose will try to win it. am sick to death of just treating it like any other competition and tamely going out when it really matters. you think united and the chavs would give back the trophy even though they won it simply by being the least shit of the teams in it.

Easy, yes. Ignoring current form/performances, I want Spurs to be in as many competitions as possible because a) they're the team I support and b) I like watching the sport of football.

i quite like the europa league, but for the health of the squad i think we could do without it for a season.
The club has been through so much these past 5 years, the emotions of leaving WHL, playing at Wembley then the new stadium, change of manager. Seems like the players are exhausted. Lets just start again, have clear weeks to properly work on tactics / fitness and give the league a proper good go.

Europa league pluses:

•Chance to realistically win something that would mean CL qualification.
•Financially a run to final could be worth £35-40m compared to £60-70m for CL last 16. A £30m hole in budget is nowhere near as bad as £70m.
• A season outside Europe would kill our coefficient which is now good and pot 2. If we go back to pot 3/4 it would make future CL groups very tough
• A chance for fringe and youth players to develop.
• Still get some great away days and a week between games for 9 months is a long time

All of this.

Rather not have any European football next season tbh. Our squad is physically gone right now and with the euros coming up in the summer I don't think a lot of our players could take another 50+ game season off the back of that.

I know we want an overhaul of the squad but the reality is there's only so many players we'll be able to sign. It means we can give all the domestic cup games more priority and we can focus on a top 4 finish in the league. It'll be nice to be able to be the fresher team going into a game rather than always having to rotate due to fatigue. How many times o we the past 3 seasons have we named an unchanged winning side?

There are loads of really good reasons to want to see us in Europe.

But I look at the clubs who've had a season out of it in recent years and how it's given them a massive boost domestically, and I look at our recent shite performances in the EL in particular, and frankly I'll be happy with a season away from it all.

I think the club is absolutely exhausted at all levels. Players, staff, fans - we've just had too much football in recent seasons, and year after year under Poch we were pushing to the very limit of our capabilities, physically and emotionally. Too much drama, too many near-misses, even too much expectation being built up.

A season away will do everyone a lot of good, even if it has financial and possibly other implications.

I quite like the Europa League but I can't help but feel like it held us back the last couple of seasons we were in it.

Our squad was always spread thin and I honestly believe that we would have finished top 4 in Pochs first season and won the league in his second if we had no Europa League.

A season out of Europe has done wonders for other teams. Liverpool 13-14, Leicester 15-16 and Chelsea 16-17.
