Lots of views on our alleged 10m offer in Spurs Chat. Most with the view that he might be a good short term signing but that 10m is way too high.
But it does make you wonder if we were really serious about signing him why did we wait until the Keane deal was finalised before making this " offer " ? Negotiating from weakness without using the fact they were desperate to sign him.
Sometimes I wonder whether Levy / HR go through the motions of making offers knowing they had no chance of success. like trying to bring in world class strikers on loan then saying we tried but just couldn't tie up the deal or going to see Forlan knowing there is no way to meet his wage demands. Good for PR showing how hard we tried. I am sure they were as surprised as we were when Pienaar wanted to come here for less money than for sure Chelsea offered him.
