SC Cheltenham Tipsters Competition 2014.

It starts on Tuesday 11th March to Friday 14th March 2014.

All you have to do is to Select a horse in every race over the 4 day festival.
And your selections for the day should be on here in time for the first race.
Once you have submitted your selections they cannot be changed.
Any problems, then PM me.

Non runners: Unless there is time to change the selection, then you will be on the favorite at 1/2 the points.

Dead heats: 1/2 the points.

1st. = 10 points
2nd. = 6 points
3rd. = 4 points
4th. = 2 points
5th. = 1 point

Races with 4 or less runners win only.
Races with 5-6-7 runners, 1st & 2nd only.
Races with 8 -15 runners 1st 2nd 3rd only.
Races with 16+ handicaps 1st 2nd 3rd 4th.
(In other words, whatever Willliam Hill are settling on, so are we!)

Everyday you can NAP one of your selections, this means that if it wins then you will get DOUBLE the points for it!!

Who ever has the most points at the end of the Festival is the winner!
Prizes for this competition are, the winner will get 5000v and the runner up 2500v.

A bonus competition will be........tell me, how far the winner of the Gold Cup will win by?

If you can predict the exact distance, then it will be worth 2000v......if no one can predict the exact distance, then it will go to the person/s closest, and that will be worth 1000v!

The predictions for the Gold Cup must be in 30 minutes before the race!

Now would be a good time to start checking out the form!

Good Luck everybody.

You're all going to need it!

Great, more mid table mediocrity......but it wouldn't be the festival without the tipsters comp.

On that basis.......I'm in.

If anyone's interested, The Telegraph is running a fantasy stable competition this year. Free to enter, and you could win £1000. You pick 3 jockeys and 3 trainers for your stable, and score points if they win or place. You're also given 27 race credits, 1 for each race, to pick a horse with. Looks like a bit of fun if nothing else.

I've set up an SC league if anyone wants to join. Pin is 8055415.

watched Cheltenham preview last night in Galway starring Tom Seagal, PW Mullins, Paul Kealy, Danny Mullins, Barney Curley and a few other Irish journos

These are a few points that came out of it

Willie Mullins best chance at the meeting is Briar Hill in the Albert Bartlett, if that isn't a tip in itself consideering he has 11 favorites right now I don't know what is

Paul Kealy says the 2 best handicapped horses at the meeting are Present View in the Novice HCP Chase ( 12/1 ) and New Sensation in the Grand Annual ( 8/1 )

Barney Curley's NAP was Our Conor in the CH

Pricewise ( Tom Seagal ) cannot have Rock on Ruby or Our Conor at all, he expects Champagne Fever to win the Arkle and Hurricane Fly to win the CH , he also tipped The Giant Bolster EW at 20/1 in Gold Cup - says reminds him of Synchronised and the headgear made a huge difference last time on him

Most of the panel very keen on Champagne Fever

Most of the panel very keen on Carlingford Lough in the RSA and say nothing between that horse and Ballycasey who is a third of the price, PS - Pricewise likes Morning Assembly for the RSA as do I

All the panel think Annie Power will wi the World Hurdle easily

PW Mullins and Pricewise say Rathvinden too big a price at 16/1 in the Neptune

All panel say there will be more Irish trained than English trained winners

Hadrians Approach well fancied for Henderon in the 3m HCP Chase on Tues

Pricewise's NAP bet was Shutthefrontdoor ( JP McManus horse ) in the 4m National Hunt Chase on the Tues but I have heard Foxrock will win that easily for the very shrewd Ted Walsh

Pricewise very keen on Dunguib in the Coral Cup

PW Mullins will ride Black Hercules as he helped breed that horse but said the feel Killultagh Vic gave him last time out was very special - both WP Mullins trained in the Bumper. Personally I really like Modus

All panel agreed that Regal Encore should win the Imperial Cup at Sandown this weekend and then if will be a strong fancy for whatever Cheltenham race is qualifies for
