I figured that, as we begin to get the first wave of "we're busy" messages flash up here and there, it'd be a good time to remind people that SpursCommunity has a live chat IRC thingemy that is free, doesn't choke up the site with refreshes and is a perfect place for those of you hooked on the most up to date information to congregate and discuss it.

If you are one of the 7 people in the chatroom today who were pretending to be ITK, winding people up, or who acted like complete arseholes, next time you attempt to log-on to the chatroom, you will receive the message saying that you are banned and giving the reason as "(PERMABAN - ITK Day)".

These bans will not be removed until the end of the season. Just so ya know.

Lanh - great work in chat today mate, I know you had help from Rob and the other mods, but it was crazy in there and you were all over it. The regular roundups were a big help too. :clap:

No worries llama and you're absolutely right about Rob. I don't think people realise just how brilliant he was today.

Not only was he keeping the server here up, and tweaking things to try and keep the busy messages down, and editing templates here as needed, he was collecting information, passing it on, modding here, (forum), modding there, (chat), and helped me out behind the scenes as well, as well as whatever he had going on in real life today.

It may sound like I'm kissing his arse or something, but if anybody doubts the effort he puts into this site, they really should look at what he did today.

nicdic deserves a special mention too, he was absolutely fantastic, totally on it in the chatroom, which was brilliant for me because it meant I could get on with other stuff while the chat window was open when he was around.

Seriously though, I had a lot of fun today, and I think I learned some lessons too, the way I run the match-day chats when I'm about may be slightly different in the future, but more about that tomorrow I think.

I thought it was a bit shit last night. I tried to get my user-name time and time again but I wouldn't let me. I tried typing as unidentified# but it would never connect my messages anyway. It was a bit chaotic really.

The ITKs, pretty much, were infact useless. I'm not blaming (SOME of) them for having crap info but last night Mystery posted something like...."we've bid on jesus navas"...only for everyone to be like: "err he suffers from really bad homesickness" so mystery posts minutes later, maybe not even that, something like "ignore that last bit, it was bollocks from my source". I found that very odd.

I personally think ITKs are hyped up too much by this site. I know they have reasons to have them on the site, and reasons not too, they obviously make this site trickier to run and put pressure on the server, but perhaps not giving them their own section and front page article, would help the harmony of the site? People expect far too much from them, and then when they are wrong (which is generally the case, maybe 70% of the time?) people get far too pissed off.
