It's not about the name on the back of the jersey, it's about the badge on the front.

I used to think that was only applicable to a player's mentality, but I guess it's a sad day when that applies to fans as well.

SSN still reporting the fee as £6m. I hope it's a typo and they missed a 1 out. £16m would be a fairer price.

Very unlike Levy to sell cheap but it looks like Levy got Levy'd.

From Jj:

Sandro's previous injury is why we 'sold' him.
He can and probably will be a big player for QPR but due to the nature of his injury and referred pain and linked issues to that he will also have a lot of time away.
Not ideal to let go of him but take into consideration his contract running down and later sell on value if he has another stop start season, his injuries and also what we have in the same role its a sensible yet not emotional decision.

I'm not interested in arguing with you on here, Macc. It's not the place BUT I really hope you've verified your sources with the moderators? That's twice today you've made 'factual statements' about Sandro, the first being about him being sheit in training, and the one I've quoted above.

Now, unless you're with, or are one of people behind the scenes, you're chatting shit.

Verified my sources? You think I was the only person other than Sandro that knew he was going to QPR? EVERYONE knew hence why it was a discussion point which has clearly been lost on you :)

I never said he was shit in training. Sherwood did. The point you are missing with your narrow mind is the fact he tweeted out. He undermined the manager and it doesn't matter what one thinks about Sherwood you just don't do that.

The irony is he suggested he wasn't that bothered because Sherwood would be gone soon well today he now wears a hooped shirt which proves my point about speaking out in public in a negative manner against the club.

I'm not chatting shit. You are just very upset and emotional because like most of us you liked Sandro because he was "funny" and we could chant "beast". I believe he could also play the guitar.

Someone else posted last night that too many fans are worried about the name on the back of the shirt instead of the badge on the front.

You are clearly a player follower so the good news for you? You can always buy a QPR shirt with Sandro's name on the back :)

Finally, feel free to respond because the transfer window is now shut and so is this conversation (or argument as you think it might be)

I've already turned against him to be honest. Squad with no character or spirit.

I'm being serious. I think I'll take a break from watching matches, etc...

I haven't been a fan for long, I watched Spurs for the first time in the CL match against Inter. I LOVED that match ( even though it was a loss) and loved every player from Gomez to Crouch. everyone is gone now and I don't feel good about it.

Unbelievable. Football is simply not for you, simple as that!!. You've been a 'supporter' for all of 5 minutes & you're already against a manager who is just 5 games into his tenure at the club. Sorry fella but that is bloody pathetic. You've sadly chosen a team that hopes to get to somewhere that makes us competitive with the best teams in the game, so players being let go is an inevitability.

My suggestion to you = find a team in the lower divisions, one that has very little money at it's disposal & is likely to retain players that only have 1 leg or are still able to play that standard until they're 40 years old. it's 'supporters' like you that have turned WHL from being 1 of the best atmospheres in football, to a stadium where a group of supporters have had to band together to get singing back on the terraces.

Sorry for the rant, it's nothing personal, I'm simply dumbfounded by your posts & people who share that opinion but claim to be 'supporters' of our great club.

He never undermined the manager, he told the supporters that the manager was lying about him being injured. Would you not stand up & speak if someone was telling lies about you? Especially when the people that are being lied to are the people who pump in the money that pays the foul-mouthed lying managers salary.. As for him tweeting about the manager being gone at the end of the season, again, it was in response to supporters contacting him because they were enraged about the manager telling the worlds press "If he was good enough he'd be in the squad". Yeah that was a wonderfully professional statement to make

You never said he was shit in training? Fella you need to re-read your post. You said something along the lines of "if he actually tried in training rather than fucking about with his guitar he may not be getting sold". Sorry if I misunderstood your ringing endorsement

You ARE chatting shit because you made incorrect 'factual statements' that you can't know about, unless you're at training, or in the board room. You're not!! You're simply paying attention to the classless clown who was in charge of our team at the time (flooded with job offers since his sacking), the plank who has been shown as nothing but a liar with a pathetic attitude!!

A player follower? You need to actually read what people type sweetheart. Maybe get yourself over to the Sandro signs for QPR thread? Truth always helps when voicing an opinion (y)

As for buying a shirt with Sandro's name on the back, grow up! Even if he was still at THFC, his name wouldn't be on the back of my shirt, neither would anyone elses. NO name has ever gone on the back of my shirt, other than my own. Why's that? Ah it's because I support THFC, not any particular individual.

Thanks for giving me permission to respond, you're very kind

Sandro is a loveable character, (and I really do wish him all the best) but I've always thought this 'prankster' type mentality translates to the pitch. I think Poch knows this. I think this laid back, relaxed attitude that seems to be rife in the squad is the reason we make split second errors that cost us.

Watched the 'Sandro Kung Fu' in the dressing room clip, and laughed and smiled...but noticed Kyle Walker was giving instructions (our other prankster...."dont life too seriously guy"). I'm convinced now we will sell Kyle in January or next Summer. Foreign managers don't have the sentiments about English players we do. I would personally keep and play Walker, but like I said from what I read into it, I think Poch's detected this 'let's have a good laugh' mentality in the club. On paper, position by position I'd say we are better than Liverpool....and there's something wrong when we make errors like we did...and completely spoon a game.

I think Poch has come in, and found certain characters to be a bit laid back for his type of football. I maybe wrong, but it's just my thoughts on why maybe Sandro has been shown the exit door.

Better than Liverpool?

Maybe three or four years ago we were.

Only players in our current XI that would make their team are Lloris, Vertonghen and Eriksen.

To all those who claim that Sandro can't pass:

http://tottenhamhotspur.blogspot.no/2014/09/over-70-forward-passes-just-what-spurs.html

Over 70% forward passes, just the player Spurs need
While researching I came across a surprising statistic which questions whether we have let the right player in Sandro go.

He was deemed surplus to requirements because in theory Mauricio Pochettino wants us to move the ball forward quicker and presumably Sandro wasfelt to be weak in that area. I though it would be worth taking a look at a few statistics to see how our defensive midfield players shaped up last season passing forwards, the results may surprise a little.

First I took a look at pass success rates which are available through several stats based sites. Mousa Dembele has often been praised for having a highly successful pass success rate and he did again last season. He and Nabil Bentaleb were the two midfielders with defensive duties who recorded a success rate in excess of 85%. Dembele recorded over 90% but all five were healthy as you would expect.

Pass Success 2013/14 Season
Mousa Dembele 90.71%
Nabil Bentaleb 87.63%
Sandro 84.42%
Paulinho 84.37%
Etienne Capoue 83.70%

Naturally an important point is getting the ball from defence to attack quickly is passing forwards, so how did our five do last season? The result is somewhat surprising. Sandro is thought to be a player who wins the ball and plays a short pass to the playmaker to do his thing, win the ball pass, Modric when he was here. However he passed the forward significantly more than any of his four competitors.

Forward Passes 2013/14 Season
Sandro 70.13%
Etienne Capoue 64.48%
Paulinho 60.33%
Nabil Bentaleb 58.72%
Mousa Dembele 56.88%

Now those statistics don't tell us how fast the ball was passed forward of course but the central defensive midfielder who passed the ball forward more than any other has left and we have a problem passing the ball forward quickly. Does that seem logical?

It does rather add weight to the theory that Sandro didn't want to remain at Spurs and had significantly more than he was giving since his injury. I doubt, as some have suggested, he has been sold because he is Brazilian and Pochettino is an Argentinian.

My only problem with the forward pass statistics is how much of that is from Sandro playing as the deepest mid in a 4-3-3? Of course you'll be passing forward in that position as almost nearly everyone else is in front of you, especially when that role also encompasses a pseudo sweeper job of dealing with balls that get past the defense.

The forward passes from that role compared to a midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 would be vastly different.

I am asking though as I'm unsure of how much Sandro was playing in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 as our tactics sometimes changed and Sandro hasn't had many games over the last couple of years.

Thats why stats are so weird.

Well we don't know how many passes were made when we were 2/3-0 up or behind. Of course you play more forward when you need a goal. It influences the tactics of the whole team.
And Sandro often had a partner who was a bit more advanced.

Levy is over-hyped in the transfer market anyway, it's pretty clear by now that 'Arry was the man behind our best deals during that period. Anyone wants to argue against that probably just doesnt like 'Arry.
