This isn't aimed at anyone here because I haven't seen any of it, but why do fans attack the player for career-threatening injuries?

I've seen a lot of people angry with him and almost say it's his fault. Poor lad keeps getting bad injuries, it's hardly him being an issue deliberately.

He won’t get anything other than a pay as you play deal . Hardly kicked a ball in 18 months and how many injuries has he had ???

the thing that is worrying all his injuries seem long term ones . Never is it just 2-3 weeks out .

Hard not to wonder what could've been with this one. Was so highly rated before his injuries.

Hope he's doing alright mentally and can either rebuild his career somewhere or find something else that makes him happy. Barely 24, the poor bastard.

No longer a spurs player

Now watch him be injury free for the rest of his career

He averged 11 games a season with us and I can only remember about 5 of them

Watch him join someone like Hoffenheim and win the Bundesliga. 6 goals and 9 assists incoming.

Shame it didn’t work out after all the hype as I really never saw anything in his game to make me think he would ever be a top player. Probably too nice a lad as well and not sure he has the elite mentality and belief in his ability as he always looked like a rabbit in the headlights for us.

Shame for him and us - hopefully he kickstarts his career and is successful elsewhere.

what a costly summer that was by the way - Sess, Tanguy and Lo Celso. A lot of money down the drain with little to no return.

He seemed to be mentally affected by his hamstrings as well as physically.

Hopefully surgery has fixed the physical issue but he’s barely played for 5 years so it will take some effort to get to elite level, maybe even mid-table level. Feel for the lad.

I'll be honest and say I never really saw it with him tbh, but I was always rooting for him and honestly believe he may have thrived as an Ange fullback. Shame for the lad, hope he pushes on somewhere else and forges a good career for himself.

Agreed. He never seemed to let himself go, like he was afraid to get into top gear.

Might be harsh but he will go down as one of the most disappointing signings in our recent history. 25-30m transfer fee 5 years ago is huge money for a teenager

Had such high hopes for him.

He had good vision and could pick out an assist (Son at Anfield, Doherty at Leeds) in that spell in the team he had under Conte.

If he can get injury free I can see him having a really good career somewhere.

Good luck Ryan!

Hopefully he goes somewhere and finds himself again. Nice enough lad, hope he prospers elsewhere and moves on from the injury issues.

Everytime he looked like he might push on he got a long term injury. Rotten luck, hopefully goes on to have a solid career and hopefully doesnt bite us on the arse if we cross paths again.

Agree. Unfortunately his body let him down.

With that in mind you can't blame the club for apparently bulking at the £50m are demanding for Archie Gray...
