Deal is all but very fine with us with various agreements thrown in, and don’t forget his brother, which we are 50/50 about. The press are on point (almost) on this one.

I hope they've come to a more realistic valuation. I'm assuming they did if we've just about agreed to it.

I just really hope we are bringing him in as a wing back. If Poch really does want to change back to a 3421 then he would be great. But if we are sticking to a 4231 then he has to be playing in defence not attack. He really doesn't have the technical ability to be up top in possession team trying to win the PL. We are also stacked with ams, Lucas is barely getting a look in as is, we really don't have any space for a 17 year old winger. Given the proper guidance I would hope he could become our Alaba.

Yeah I just don't see how we can accommodate another wide player currently.

Agree, the only reason we should look at an AM or WF is if someone such as Bale becomes available, IE someone world class who you make space for.
I understand not wanting to pass on the opportunity of a player of who you think Sessegnon can be but I just don't see how he can be accommodated.

Agree. There's been ITK telling us that Poch wants a back 3 and Sessegnon would potentially be a real threat as a WB. I'm mildly excited now

That takes me back to De Ligt in the the back three and being nervous. So now we're expected to roll out 2 teenagers in our 5 man defense?

We are not really keen on another year loan option, as we were forced to accept last summer, only for him to sign a contract. Ideally, as selfish as it seems, FFC miss the play off finals, and then we are in a very strong position.

Poch very much believes in 'If you're good enough you're old enough'

If we could get this kid for less than we get for Rose then we've played a blinder.

Could be a monster of a wing back. Swap Sessegnon and De Ligt for Rose and Toby and suddenly I'm not so disappointed.

In that case bring him on. Would be awesome as a wingback, I would be a little scared of him playing in big games at 18 though.

Why? I don’t see a massive difference personally, it’s not like we don’t have players in their mid twenties that fuck up in these games

True, but I just don't see that as a step forward for the club. Swapping Toby and Rose for De Ligt and Sessegnon. Surely everyone can see that is a massive downgrade.

How so?

Toby and Rose have been great servants to the club and they’re undeniably among the best defenders in Europe on their day but they’re clearly on their way out the door. Mentally Danny’s been gone for a year and Toby for 6 months.

We’re in a strong position to sell them both for probably not far off £100m combined. If we can use a chunk of that money to replace them with De Ligt and Sessegnon, who are both ridiculously exciting talents who look like they’re ready to play in the first team, then we would be mad not to do so.
