People are actually looking to blame him. I'm not sure if it is possible any more for him to concede a goal and not be blamed for it. It's been that way for a while now. Oh and Rooney's goal. Forget any notions of it being a brilliant goal, it was from distance and was therefore the keepers fault. Actually, that too was Robbo's fault.

In fact, while we're at it, I thought he was also at fault for Georgia's goal tonight.

Oh and RMY, if all else fails, there's the immigrants.

All of that is true.

You don't suppose Robbo is an immigrant? The foreign ****!

Their second goal summed Robbo up for me. A good reaction save, but nothing complicated. He wasn't at full stretch and he looked heavy, then a ham fisted block that sent the ball back into the centre of the goal mouth.

Oh and you just knew he wasn't going to get near that pen either. When was the last time he saved one?

Whatever he once was, he's become an extremely average keeper, everyone else knows it, foreigners laugh at the England keeper, English fans scratch their heads at how he gets in the side, half the Spurs fans have given up, the other half have stopped arguing and a very few still like to pretend that everyone else has got their heads stuffed up their arses and find a reason why every mistake he makes is in fact a figment of the collective imagination. :duh:

You don't expect any keeper to save a penalty, the advantage's clearly with the penalty taker, I was commenting more on the lack of any expectation that he would. Some keepers give you the sense that they might save it, with Robbo you don't get that sense.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong, maybe Robbo's in fact one of the top international keepers?

And what about all those supporters of other teams, they're just idiots, sniggering up their sleeves at our Robbo... and all those England fans don't know what they're on about either... and all them dumbass so called Spurs supporters, criticising blindly, they haven't a clue... because really Robbo's top quality. Form is temporary; class is permanent...

Gorden pushed one down low to his left but noone was there to pick it up and it ran away from danger, Given just got caught in no mans land and the striker managed to put it wide witha 3 on 1 break. Mistakes all around just Robbo's was capatalised on.

Lescott has played at LB for Everton probably more than he has played CB for them. By playing there, it allowed Moyes to play his favoured partnership of Yobo and Stubbs.

lescot played alot of last season at left back for us and was excellent going forward. he's also a very good centre half. funnily enough though one position he's never played is left back slotting into centre half slotting into left back slotting into centre half etc etc.

steve mclaren. what a genius.

i watched the game on a russian channel with a work colleague. Every time one of the russian players entered the english half, the russian commentator kept shouting..'have a go, paul robinson is in goal'. How sad.

I know . It's disgusting , I was at the pub and people were blaming the goal on him . Did anyone expect to win when the opposition had upwards of 70% possession second half .

Live near Reading and one person who obviously knew his stuff pointed out that Shorey would not have let it happen .

No way he Robbo going to catch that , just unfortunate he could not parry it wide .

Robbo is about as athletic as Mido and I don't think he can win the weight battle as he ages .

With The King back to restore order in the area and a Carrick replacement , Robbo will be OK for the time being .

You all know what i think of Robinson, but it wasn't his fault England lost tonight.

If England want to win games they have to start playing football. Passing the ball to each other, not over hitting passses to the fursthest player they can possibly see.
Either that or just say fuck it and do what they do best: Long ball.

England are technically embarassing. They're players are vastly over rated (yes I include gerrard and Rooney) and a succession of managers that think picking the most famous names is a successful formula.

England loose every time they come up against a decent side. They are outplayed every time they come against a good side. They manage to bully their way past poor sides who have leagues that are the equivelant of our second division.

Euro 2008 without no England, Scotland, Wales, N. Ireland and Republic of Ireland  ....let's bring back the Home Championships! We need some form of football in the summer.

They manage to bully their way past poor sides who have leagues that are the equivelant of our second division.

England can't even do that well. Germany can put 13 past San Marino, whereas we struggle for an hour against a team like Andorra and only end up with 3 goals.
