He is playing to rules if not the spirit.

The problem for Levy, is that Poch likes and trust Rose, and all things being equal he is our best left back.

So while Levy is looking at the players like real estate, Poch is focussed on the pitch.

Again as with most things written regarding players managers and owners there is no context to the question or whether it is reported in full.

Rose has been around a long time and he knows the score within the club so I am sure he would not want to ostracise himself

All the want a way players will know that it doesnt end by leaving Tottenham They will need new clubs. Good clubs will be reticent to offer reasonable length contracts in case it goes wrong. Cavalier clubs are a more of a risk to them

That's not necessarily true - for we know and have observed, Poch is just potentially not telling DR the truth.

We are in a no win situation with Rose's attitude.

If we play him he wont give a shit or put in the effort and if we banish him to the lower grade, or even the sidelines, he is still taking up a home grown spot which stops us from buying some one else.

He needs to man up to the fact that he is not wanted and be professional about it and move on with his career.

We don't need to play any of these guys, it seems like they're toxic to the rest of the squad. I would just drop them all and play the youngsters. I've changed my signature to match. ;)

I think Poch will play him again this season. Our performance against Sheffield United wasn't good enough to suggest the answer was to drop him. He's been absolute crap this season but watching Ben Chilwell get a hat trick of assists in the 1st half for England last night might motivate him to show more for his club. He still, bizarrely, sees himself as an international player so if we can't motivate him then that might.

Either way, I won't miss him when he leaves in 18 months

I don't see how it stops us buying someone else? If we bought another home grown player we would just have more than the required home grown quota then?

If Leeds come up and make him (and the club) a reasonable offer, then I'm sure he'd go in the summer.

Yes, it's true. And when you are stuck with them, you can "play ball" and see how to keep them motivated. One player leaving for free, that happens. It's ok. One case of Alderweireld for instance. A bunch of players looking to run down their contracts, that's mismanagement.

Is it just at our club that this is happening with players and if so, why?

I certainly did but if there is anything in my post you don't understand, feel free to ask away
No thanks I think I'll swerve. It would obviously be a waste of my time and yours. Thanks for the offer though.

I suppose I dont blame Rose for running down his contract knowing full well he'll make less at his next gig. I just dont know why he has to take it to the media. I disagree with the idea that he's been underpaid over the length of his current contract.
