Don’t forget that because of the way we structure our player contracts they get paid more if they’re playing.

Danny Rose deserve a level of respect from all of us.Having come through our system and into the first team..is an achievement not many have managed to do.

However time is truly up at Spurs

He does deserve respect and for that reason we shouldn't hate on him, especially with the metal health issues he clearly has.

However he's tarnished his reputation with us and I hope we never see him again. Headlines like this are still a negative on the club no matter what the truth, intent or and media twist is and he must know that.

The thing is, millions of people have mental health problems and aren’t dicks. He’s just a dick I’m afraid. Mental health problem or not, it doesn’t mean you have to behave like he does. He’s always played with a chip on his shoulder and over the last couple of years has shown his true colours.

That is true and is something I thought about before posting. We shouldn't just excuse what is dickish behaviour on someones mental health I agree.

He does have goodwill for the service he has provided, but I think it was Toby who alluded him to being a negative in the dressing room, to put it politely, so for that reason and him racing his mouth off previously, he's going to leave the club under a cloud sadly. I personally would say fuck off no testimonial too.

You may be right but my instinct tells me you're wrong. I'm lucky in that I don't suffer from mental health issues so I have no idea how it might affect me but I would guess that maybe it can manifest itself in all sorts of ways, ones attitude, how one reacts to certain situations, decision making, being bothered to get out of bed in the morning, it can be in all sorts of ways and each person would (I guess) be different, we just don't know. Literally. So he may be a dick, he may not be, but I'm guessing. And you are too, we all are.

I know SC can be an unforgiving place at times but on balance, would it be asking too much if we were to cut him some slack, if he's made some poor choices, well, we all do that, if he's wrong, he's wrong but we shouldn't just write off his issues as having no relevance. IMO of course :D

He says it didn't work out and he just wants to play regular. He even concedes that if he doesn't do well at Newcastle, then maybe Tottenham were right to let him go.

All sounds fair to me. I didn't realise Spurs fans were so sensitive and easily upset.

There's no snowflake quite like a football fan on the internet when someone says something that isn't completely 100% complementary about their team.

Can you point out exactly where he has "been a dick"? He hasnt downed tools and always put effort in even if he was in bad form.

The only thing he has done different is he hasnt followed the media managed scripted bollocks that 99% percent of professional footballers come out with, whether it be the social media accounts they have someone else run for them or the cookie cutter interviews that you could write knowing what they were going to say before the interview even happened.

But because football fans absolutely have to have smoke blown up their arse by their own players every single time (fans were great, love the fans, fans are the best!) a soon as someone deviates even slightly from that and is honest and truthful, even when its not even controversial people lose their shit and call him a dick and disloyal and a attention seeker when nothing he said was out of line.

Christ, imagine if football players really said what they were thinking about managers and fans, then you might have reason to call them names.

All the best Danny Rose.
Always like the boy
Both his ability
and spirit.
Could have done with
more of it
in the squad.

Nothing wrong
with this 'perfect' interview.
Unimpeachable.

Check the player thread it’s been gone over hundreds of times since his interview when he was so disruptive. It’s always about him as far as I can see.

The most recent example is going to the sun saying there was unrest at Mourinho’s methods. He was then shown up by son, Toby and lloris.

I agree with you and have defended him before but he keeps (although not in this instance) making the same mistake. Maybe he’s not listening to other people, maybe he’s listening to people who don’t have his best interests at heart, maybe (probably) he’s being manipulated by the media but it’s unnecessary to keep going on about it.

I think “the dressing room insider” incident the other week was the final straw with the Mourinho training ground unrest mischief. He just never covers himself in glory.

i can sympathise with Lennon, hes a proper legend
Not Rose, for someone who is depressed, he is unsually talkative.

I think you need go and do a bit of reading on depression before expressing such views on it. Especially when you’re equating mental health and wealth into the equation.

Amazed after all the recent efforts to increase awareness about depression that people still seem to equate it to being a bit 'fed up'.

TBF IMO it's understandable (I say this as someone who has occasionally suffered.) The word 'depression' is misused in the same way that 'flu' is misused for a common cold.
I sometimes wonder if it might be time for a new word to be used instead.

That's a bloody good idea. Tbf I'm guilty of saying "I'm depressed" totally out of context or maybe "I'm a bit OCD about that" when clearly I'm not.
