Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent has confirmed to ESPNsoccernet that the striker is attracting interest from the Premier League and the Bundesliga, but any club hoping to sign his client in January must be prepared to meet Tottenham's demands.

Roman Pavlyuchenko has been linked with a move away from Spurs on a regular basis

Despite earning praise for turning around his career in North London following a difficult start after his move from Spartak Moscow in 2008, Pavlyuchenko still does not command a regular place in the club's starting XI, with Peter Crouch striking up a productive partnership with Rafael van der Vaart and Jermain Defoe also providing strong competition for places.
It is understood that Sunderland, following the sale of Darren Bent to Aston Villa, are interested in the Russia international, while the possibility of a move to the Bundesliga has been repeatedly suggested over the past two seasons.
However, both manager Harry Redknapp and chairman Daniel Levy are known to like Pavlyuchenko and any interested party will have to make a substantial offer for the player who cost Tottenham £13.8 million following his impressive performances at Euro 2008.
"There is interest from some clubs in England and Germany but Roman has two more years on his contract with Tottenham," agent Oliver Wendt told ESPNsoccernet.
"It's not in our hands if he can move or not. The decision is Tottenham's if they let him go or not and I think it is important another club likes to pay.

Best finisher at the club...if the ball's within two feet of him... and nobody's within five feet of him.

He's got talent, but he lacks heart...and balls.

Yep, he's got a great finish - and that's it. Poor touch, can't hold the ball up, OK passer, doesn't work hard enough or defend from the front. Off the bench or not at all I'm afraid...

If we can get £10m+ then :hello: Pav.

our best finisher? hmm, VDV is a better more consistant finisher imo and so is Bale even.

Pav varies from being a great finisher to not being able to hit a barn door and you never know which Pav will turn up.

Would he improve with a run of games? I am not so sure, I remember him having a purple patch last season and he got himself in the first team but still went cold and lost form, I think he is just that kind of inconsistent player.

I think if he were to move to Sunderland, like Bent he would do pretty well there because he would get goals and we would just see him on the odd MOTD highlight and think 'wow, pav is really banging them in up there we should have kept him', but in reality like Bent he is not suited to us and not up to our level.

If Sunderland (or a similar team) played him week in week out and made him the focal point of their attack handing chances on a plate to him whenever they were in position he would score a fair few goals no doubt (as he has done with us really)
He might say miss 7 to score 2.

The problem is he does very little else, no work rate, no strength....which is a shame because he has the ability to link play and I have seen him work the channels hard from time to time plus he is half decent in the air.

If I had the choice I would probably rather see Crouch leave, but they are much of a much over all and Crouch seems to be in the favour of Harry so you would expect him to stay (unless a massive bid came in for Crouch perhaps)

If we could get anything like our money back for Pav and Keane and bring in a decent striker who can form a good partnership with VDV the window will have been a great success and we will be looking strong for another top four finish, if however we fail and go into the second half of the season relying on the strike force we have it will be a real struggle considering we are only free scoring in Europe this year and our competitors all seem more potent in front of goal than us (direct competitors for top 4 I mean)

I like Pav and would have wanted him to be more of a success than he has been, but I really just don't see him ever making a massive impact with us and I think for the best of us and his own career we should say thanks and goodbye because we badly need to upgrade our first choice striker options.

Pav has all the attributes to be that No.9 we so badly want, but his such a flyweight. If only the penny can drop like it did for Bale then we have the players within the squad.

Isn't that a contradiction in terms? If he is such a flyweight he doesn't have all the attributes we want in a No. 9 because one of the attributes is not to be a lightweight.

What a load of bollocks some people post!

Best finisher at the club...if the ball's within two feet of him... and nobody's within five feet of him.

Straight away I thought of that GOTM contender from earlier in the season. Hit the ball on the volley even though he was surrounded by defenders. I'm not sure I can think of any situation where your accusation is true.

What a load of bollocks! I know I said that to start with but this takes the biscuit!

Pav can't hit a barn door?! Even when he doesn't score he's close. Shooting is very good.

Pav went cold and lost form after a great run? Yes because he stopped getting picked! He didn't lose form, he just didn't play! It's pretty hard to score when you're watching Crouchy from the bench and thinking "WTF do I have to do to start ahead of this clown? Score every game??" (The answer is yes, evidently)

Bent not up to our level?! He's above our level if anything. He's better than JD, Crouch and possibly even Pav. He's one of the top scorers in the premiership in recent seasons. It's not rocket science to grasp that a player can't score if he's not on the pitch and that a player who's regularly playing is going to have more confidence and score more. The amazing thing with Bent and Pav is despite Harry messing them about they've scored as much as they have/did. We've seen with Keane a player who suffers greatly from being mucked around. Instead of slating Pav, we should be amazed that he's managed to do so well in spite of the crap managment.

So, no, it's no surprise that Bent has done well at Sunderland or will do well at Villa. Both clubs (and possibly fans) recognise that if you play a good striker they will score regularly. To suggest that Bent played better because Sunderland were a worse team is nonsense. He played better because he played. As I say, you can't score if you're not playing and Sunderland (and Charlton and probably Villa) prove that point, if it needs proof.

If it's a case of putting it on a plate for Pav and making him the focal point of our attack then FFS do that then! If you can see that it works, why wouldn't you do it? It's the same kind of logic that says "Bales great and running down the wing and crossing, lets stick him at LB!"

Pav has all the attributes to be that No.9 we so badly want, but his such a flyweight. If only the penny can drop like it did for Bale then we have the players within the squad.

The penny dropped with Bale? When was this? I assume you're thinking of the game he didn't play as when the penny hadn't dropped but the ones where he did play as the games when the penny dropped? Is it really such a foreign concept that a player who is on the bench won't be scoring or playing well (because they're not playing at all)??
