I'm desperately trying to figure out exactly how someone could type/write that RVP is rumoured to come to Spurs. The key area of confusion for me is how someone could continue to type while the men in white coats were trying to put their arms into a straitjacket.

Still, this is the area for Transfer Rumours and until we get a 'Let's Make Shit Up To Boost Our Hitrate' section of SC, I guess this is where it goes.

for what its worth, cant see how it is possibly going to happen:
1) He has been rumoured to be offered megabucks at Man City, and Anzhi 6 digit figures which we cant and wont afford
2) Le' Arse wouldnt sell him to us
3) He would be looking to move to a 'developed' team thats already been playing consistently in the CL, whereas we are 'developing' and still trying to establish ourselves as regular CL contenders
4) RM, Juventus, PSG etc are said to be interested. Nuff said.

although heart says would like this to happen to give the Scum a kick up the arse for fucking us over with ****ball, Bergkamp and Petit...the head says it would not happen in a million years...

Cant see RvP at Spurs ... unless perhaps something happens and VdV bends his ear. But that seems so unlikely.

Aside from his whole loyalty to the goons (not like they ever sing any fucking songs) it would be a massive risk at his age to consider a club that is still behind the one he's leaving and doesn't have the muscle for instant success.

He will go somewhere where he's bordering on guaranteed to win trophies. City, Real or Barca.

It was the other way around it was Van Persie who wanted VDV at Arsenal, we should just bid for the hell of it. Surely some Arab prince or oil lord sees the humor in it and gives us the money to do it.

That would be awesome! We really need some more quality up front... though I doubt he would ever come to us from the arses! But it would be cool :)!

Only way is if the goons have really pissed him off and he wants to get one over on them. But even at that they would never sell him to us. He'll go to City, then when that happens, we should make a make for Dzeko! Wishful thinking I know

Even if VDV were somehow able to convince him to want to come to Spurs and accept a far lesser wage packet than he could get elsewhere for his final and biggest deal of his football career (possibly)

There's no way Arsenal would willingly sanction a sale of him to us, could you imagine the fan backlash if they did?

This is the biggest non starter in the history of non starters

I would piss my pants laughing if we signed him.

Shame it'll never happen, he'll be wanting £200k per week, I should imagine... but still... hilarious to see the link! Ha ha!

This could back fire badly, we would bid and even if the scum accepted he would come out to the press saying he would never join such a lowely team, massive step backwards blah blah blah....... setting ourselves up to be ridiculed in public.

Lets just sit back and watch the deck of cards collapse from afar while we quietly go along with building our fortress.

Yep - as I mentioned in another thread - been talking to some of the fans etc. in San Jose about this and much as we now get linked to every player coming off contract in the other team, I think that the best thing for us is to keep out of that war going on between their board and just focus on our lot. Especially since we seem to have finally cracked the feeder teams (SJ etc.) and are getting on with signing some promising tallent. I definately prefer getting in the 22-26 yo range knowing that on a 3 year contract we'll either see them come to their best or be able to offload them before people realize all while not having to match the stupid salaries that are starting to float about.

But apart from that, you still think there's a possibility...
