An honest and genuine chap, a proud Catalan and integral to the success of the Guardiola years. His passing will be felt heavily by all of those at the club and by the socio's.

The FC Barcelona is in immense mourning. Tito Vilanova has died at the age of 45. May he rest in peace

Sad news, just saw this pop up on the BBC site. Horrible way to go as well, research in head/neck cancers is so underfunded it's unreal. Hope he made the most of the time he had after he quit Barca.

Fucking Cancer

Its unfair to judge his year as a manager as he had to leave before the season finished.

Its a shame how things went sour with him and Pep a year or two ago.

He was looking for other forms of treatment last month but it seems yesterday the scan that it was worse than he hoped

RIP

No doubt for his achievements with Pep and winning the league as manager against Mourinho

Alot of cancers are underfunded unfortunately Pancreatic cancer gets 1% yet is the fifth largest cancer killer and only 3 or 4 survive 5 years and over 80% die within a year of diagnoses

This has led to other cancer research groups doing some extreme marketing but it has received alot of hate

RIP Tito. Reminds us that there are bigger things in life than football.

People are funny though. We could put a man on the moon in the sixties and still have not come any closer to curing cancer...

Just such sad news and young too. Hopefully this will raise awareness and funding for research into throat cancer.

Jeez, so gutted for him, seemed a very likeable guy and at such a relative young age too :(. Cancer seems so much more prevalent now, in America, Cancer is the number one cause of death as of 2014, can't believe that it has now overtook heart disease. I wonder how keen the world's governments are to find a cure for it tbh, you hear stories about certain drugs for cancer are not put into production because of slim profit margins and then there is the issue of over population, A world without cancer would just exasperate the already over populated Earth.

R.I.P Tito
