I have been doing over 0.5 goals accumulators this week and have won on every bet.

I have only made a profit of just over £100 but William Hill have limited my account to stakes of £50.50 (they haven't actually informed me of this).

Has this happened to any of you before and should I pack it in before they restrict the account to an amount not worth betting on?

It seems no one is allowed to win anymore!!??

Got loads of accounts with many different bookies and it's a common tool of the gambling industry to ensure the odds are in their favour.
If you look at the matched betting thread I'm sure most of the posters in there will have had restricted accounts and promos removed. (It's called being gubbed)

Ah well, looks like I'm back to my £2 footie and Racing accas. It does piss me off though as it's not a massive amount of profit.

I'm thinking of sticking to the minimum bet but if I keep winning they will probably restrict it further and I dont really have the option to open other accounts for reasons I wont go into.

I went into William Hill a few years back when Euro's were on and asked for a Spain outright winner of tournament and Torres tournament top scorer, and they wouldn't take my bet.

Said I could do it as two singles, but wouldn't entertain the double.

They wouldn't take a double as the two bets are interelated. You'd need to be betting on a winner and top scorer combined specials market for that which I guess they didn't have at the time.

But yes being gubbed is a shitter. The best way to avoid it I think is to mix up your bets by betting on football if you normally bet on horses, for example. Also throw in the odd stupid bet like exact score and first goal scorer. I think they're generally on the lookout for people that are experts in one particular area that will be a match for their odds compilers.

A mate of mine works for Betfred or someone like that and says they generally look to ban people that only bet when they offer the best odds so try to avoid just going that with the smaller bookies as well.

Yeah, I figured as much. However, there was no guarantee that Spain would win or Torres would be top scorer.

Even if interelated, I can't see why they couldn't shorten the odds to a point they're happy and take me on.

As it was, my bet would've lost. Their financial's took a hit that year. Should've took my £5.

Probably nobody in the shop with the authority to do it. Surprised they didn't call someone up to do it but maybe didn't think it was worth a fiver. Anyway, a thing of the past now in these request a bet days!

Having £2k on a 5/1 horse in a willhill shop....manager looks shocked and has to ring up, comes back and says " you can have £700 at 5s & £500 @ 7/2."
Is it any wonder there are still illegal bookies?
