Can't see us putting together a consistent enough run to make up the gap, but in CL knockout stage it's all about how you perform on the day.

I'm completely discounting the possibility that we could still win the Champions League because despite still being in it, we absolutely can't. Therefore, for me personally, our remaining objectives for this season should be as follows (in priority order):

1) Win the FA Cup
2) Qualify for a CL place via the League
3) Finish above Arsenal

Ideal outcome:
Finish in the top 4
Win the FA Cup
Win the Champions League
Wolves and Sheffield United finishing 5th and 6th, to pip Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal to the other European spots.

Obviously that's a little optimistic. I do think we can finish 4th and manage a good run in at least one of the remaining cups though. It's not like Chelsea have been super convincing or consistent this season either, but we've strengthened in the transfer window and they haven't.

Our main issue this season has been in CM (before and during Kane's injury). If Ndombele can stay fit and Lo Celso can maintain (or improve upon) his recent form, this problem is gone. We've also added Gedson as another CM option and "Stevie" to compete on the wing (Moura hasn't been entirely convincing lately). We shouldn't overlook the benefit of two very unsettled players leaving the dressing room either.

Is that the case if an English team win the Europa League too?

Yup, then 5 teams qualify for champions league. Unless an English team outside top 4 wins Champs and Europa then the 4th placed would miss out, can have a max of 5.

I know this is for ideal, so in an ideal season
Liverpool, Man City, Leicester implode, we win every game and win League
We win Champions League
We win FA Cup and have a triple trophy parade.

Which sort of makes the initial question a bit silly.

Much more relative would have been, what do we think a realistic outcome will be, mine would be :-
Don't think we win anything, or even reach a final, finish outside Top 4, and as I don't give a toss about the Bantz of finishing above Arsenal, but think we probably will anyway

Which is a maximum of 5, therefore if Wolves or Utd win Europa League and and we won CL, then no CL place for 4th in League

I cant believe i explained myself out of being a smart alec. I've literally snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory for no reason. Loophole bastard.

I think we have no chance of winning CL this season, although obviously my ideal finish to the season would be a magical Jose win (like at Port or Inter)

I would like us to somehow win the race for fourth place, over take Chelsea (even Leicester somehow would be nice) and hold off Utd et el to secure another season of CL football next year

Failing that, I'd reluctantly settle for a FA cup win and Europa football next season

Anything less than those options (which is what I actually expect) is going to be a very, very disappointing season

If qualifying for the CL would allow us to purchase the players that Jose needs during the summer transfer window then qualifying for the CL would be the ideal outcome. If it would have no discernable affect on our summer spending plans then I'd rather see us win the FA cup, which is a realistically achievable trophy. Obviously doing both would be fantastic but doing neither - well this has been a season of transition so whilst disappointing, it is not a massive surprise given our start to the season.

Most likely a top six finish- I’d be pleasantly surprised if we finished fourth. Chelsea currently have seven points over us, and though we have a game in hand, I think we’re too inconsistent to make up that type of ground. Wolves are also in for a very good shout for top four; they’re far more cohesive than us so I don’t see any reason currently why we would finish above them.

I’d be happy to see Jose implement his long term blueprint by degrees for the remainder of the season. Hopefully the rebuild continues in the summer window and we are in much better shape next season.

I have little to no expectation of us winning a trophy; while Mourinho knows what it takes to win silverware, our team really doesn’t. This will also take time

It’s difficult to expect us to win a trophy given our recent history. I’d love to see it of course but don’t think it’ll happen, not this season.

I think we’ll finish 6th and above Arsenal. Can’t see us beating City, United or Chelsea in the FA Cup if we get to that stage and I’d be delighted to just get past Leipzig in the CL

Realistically we won’t score enough goals to finish Top 4. I think we’ll end up 6th/7th.

If we get a bit of luck with the draws we could get to the FA Cup final but I don’t fancy us against City. If we were to play anyone else then we could win it - it’s a one off match.

If we made the CL semis that would be a seriously great performance. However, realistically, I think RB Leipzig are going to outscore us.

My biggest hope is to see the team start to put in some cohesive and fluid performances with positive signs for the future, much like our form at the end of the 08/09 season under Harry (which was the season before we finished 4th for the first time).

In general I just don’t feel positive about the team right now though, and think Jose needs 4-5 new players and a full pre-season with them in order to build on any progress he can make with the current crop during the remainder of this season.

We generally look a bit lost right now, but that’s understandable after the end of such a long era under Poch.

Chelsea and United are inconsistent, so if we could actually put a run together we'd have a reasonable chance of fourth. But we don't look capable of getting two wins in a row, let alone a run.

I can't see us scoring or preventing enough goals to with anything or finish fourth.

Wow, I can't believe that "finishing above arsenal" is in the lead at the moment. Like that's any way to measure success right now.

Absolutely no idea whatsoever. Could be anything. One thing is for certain though. It’s spurs. We will lurch from disaster to glory to something else between now and the end of the season. Of that I can be absolutely certain.
