Now that the 19/20 season is finally over. What do we all think should be the realistic expectations of Mou and the squad for next season?

For me it's:

1. Win a trophy (Go all out for FA cup and Europa league)
2. Finish above the goons again
3. Be competitive in the league (Top 5 finish)

This is obviously all dependent on what sort of transfer window we have and if Levy delivers on key targets.

Top 4 and a trophy. You'd expect Chelsea to kick on with their signings but I think United are catchable as long as they keep ole in charge.

We won’t go near top 4 without matching Man U and Chelsea’s spending, which we will never do with Levy in charge.

We have to finish in the top 4 along with winning a trophy.
Top 4 and a trophy.

I think the most realistic route back into the UCL will be the europa league in all honesty. Top 4 is going to be tough considering the money Utd and Chelsea will spend and with City & Pool basically being shoe ins.

Mourinho has already won it twice and will actually take it seriously as opposed to Poch. Would obviously love a top 4 finish too though!

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Top 4 and a trophy or Europa League trophy by itself, being a pathway to the CL. Top 4 and EL would be a better sign of progress than just the EL though obviously.

We were top4 last 5 years and with current manager we were top4 this season too without matching United and Chelsea's spending whilst Levy is in charge

Spurscommunity will be awash with supporters who paint every blip as a disaster and play down every success as a fluke. Every player will receive over the top derision at some point. No thread will be safe from vitriol, arguments about the manager or arguments about the board. Knives will be out for every summer signing from posters who would’ve preferred someone else. There will be constant analysis over Harry Kane’s body language as well as medical expertise provided regarding his condition. And a tonne of fans who’ve never or barely ever set foot inside our stadium will rant about us serving up substandard football but having the most expensive seats in England.

The only guarantees are that every victory will be “Mourinho Masterclass” and every loss will see mind-numbingly boring football that will make you want poke your eyes out with a rusty spoon.

I was going to say fix the issues at CM... but i'm not sure it's realistic as its been the same for over 2 seasons now

A genuine DM would make a huge difference and someone replacing Sissoko would be awesome, sissoko great worker, terrible tactically imo

Also I feel like we need a big attacking player to come in as things are a bit stale going forward

I agree, although we don't necessarily need to match their spending. We do however need to be smarter than them and really put all our efforts into signing those Jose identified.

We could spend 200m and it could still go wrong. We need to ensure the right players are brought in

I'd be happy with just getting back into the top four if we started playing free flowing, attacking football that was fun to watch and brought through a generation of exciting new young players that made me feel optimistic about the future. But if we're going to be as diabolical to watch as we have been under Mourinho - silverware must be delivered as a bare minimum and given how painful it is then really top four should be a minimum too. We're not going to win any new fans, nor attract top new players, playing the way we have done thus far.
