Breaking it down:

- I don't see why, short of major investment (which is unlikely) any team that finished below us this year should finish above us next year, so looking above us
- Top 2 out of sight - end of story I'm afraid
- Man Utd - have upward momentum, a well invested squad, some good young players (including the best young player I've seen in a long time - Greenwood is very special), cash to burn and the lure of the CL. A new GK would save them a ton of points. I'm worried they'll be difficult for us to catch
- Chelsea - adding some very good attackers, their young players will be a season more experienced, and will have money as well. Again, I worry that we won't catch them either
- Leicester - I'm not worried about them

So in terms of the Prem (some of these might be conservative):
- Par is 5th
- 1 in 25 chance of getting in the top 3
- 1 in 7 chance of finishing top 4
- anything below 5th is a failure

In terms of cups:
- no bloody idea I'm afraid

One in 25 chance of finishing 3rd in a 20 team league?

Regarding Chelsea, in a week, they’ll have spent £150m+ on Werner, Zyech & Havertz when what they actually needed was a new keeper and a brand new back line. Unless they plan on turned every game into 5-4’s and winning most of them, this approach will not get them much further than where they are now.

This is about right. Top 2 are in their own league and most likely will again next year.

If United get Sancho they’ll have way too much firepower for most teams. The only slight chink with both them and a heavily strengthened Chelsea is the inexperience of the managers should they go on a bad run.

We won’t go near top 4 without matching Man U and Chelsea’s spending, which we will never do with Levy in charge.

Results wise Jose hasn’t done Too bad but we will need more points per game than Jose averaged minimum 1.8 if we can buy two quality midfielders and a decent second striker then maybe top 4 . If we start with sissoko and winks in September We’re doomed I tell ya

1) Carling Cup (or whatever it's called this year).
2) Mourinho to take a dump in Levy's desk drawer at some point.
3) Ndombele to run a total of over 450m during the season.

Realistic expectations are very low.

Not expecting Top 4, we are way behind Liverpool and Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea will both strengthen significantly more than us, and increase the gap to us.
Not expecting a cup, one in 20 years sort of gears your thinking that way, and with the rate that fixtures will come about next season, we will lose important players to injuries, and the bigger teams above will have greater squad depth.
So my expectations are, just rolling along, a few good moments, a few dreadful, same as this season, Top 6 and season basically over for us with 6 games to go would be my realistic expectation.

If we have sissoko and winks as our central midfield duo, we will reach fifth next season. Central midfield has to be the priority at any cost ...

I think 5th place would be realistic, and if Chelsea and Utd dont improve like i expect, 4th place would be possible. Europa League and FA Cup we can be champions if we focus and luck is on our side.

Win the title.

We can make Top 4. I don't expect it but I don't accept that any of the others are out of reach. If Liverpool don't refresh properly, they could end up like us under Poch or like Dortmund under Klopp and burnout at some stage. United? They have a poor manager. Chelsea? A piss poor defence. I expect City to be strong but who knows. Kompany went last season and they've been ropey at the back. Silva will go this summer.

The top 4 is far from certain. If someone had told me that Mourinho's Chelsea would finish mid table after winning the league, that United would miss top 4 the season after Fergie went or that Pep would struggle for top 4 in his first season, I'd have laughed at them.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Jose isn't here to finish fifth and maybe win a cup.

All down to who comes in and whether key areas like DM and the fullbacks are finally addressed. If that happens, could be looking at a serious top four challenge and a trophy. If the usual suspects are still starting next season, I expect nothing to really improve.

A trophy and top 4 is the aim. But that's because we should be aiming high.

Realistically, for me, I think top 4 is going to be a stretch. Liverpool and Man City will be the top 2 again, Chelsea have already spent big and will continue to do so and I think United will as well.

I have said for a while that Europa League success is our best chance of Champions League Football. That's why yesterday was so important. I think we should go all out for it.

Top 6 and a trophy is realistic. But we should be aiming to push the top 4.
