Who has Bale ever linked up with?
He is at his most effective when players just move out of his way like Adebayor used to.

We wouldn't rely on Kane with Bale. He runs from deep and just smashes them in. He's got 5-10 long rangers a season in him which helps break stubborn teams.

If we can, we should. But I seriously doubt we can.

They say never go back.

But hell yes please. If Poch's training sessions don't kill him, and he doesn't come with a billy big bollocks attitude, he'd be an asset.

Bang on. A fully fit Bale would be a dream. I think this fits in with Poch’s recent comments. Along the lines of we have to approach things differently if we want to progress. I took this to partly mean to buy successful players with experience but lose out on resale. Not the current Levy model but we need to buy winners.

What about the risk on ending up with a Sanchez or Ozil (big money players you wish you could get rid of)?

I'd have him in for Lamela. Both have bad injury records so neither will play every game. Bale is a world beater at times though. I'd still want someone like Sess for the long term.

I'll take it in a heartbeat.

We are talking about real madrid paying us to take him right..?

In my opinion the only way this happens is that Bale and Barnett tell RM its us or no-one. This leaves RM in a difficult position of keeping Bale for the next 3 years on 300k+ net a week when he clearly doesn't fit into the managers plans or dealing with Levy's lowball offer everyone else is out of the equation.

For whats its worth reading about how he hasn't exactly bought into another culture i think he would want to come home as opposed to another foreign jaunt.

There is no comparison or risk. For a start we would not be buying him. Secondly it would be down to Poch and his team to assess his capability.

It could be doable. £10m loan fee + the £250K weekly is relative peanuts to get our hands on such a wonderful player, a player who could push Spurs on to greater things. A one season loan would presumably work out at around £19m.

£19 million would also get you another rapid Left Winger on a permanent deal.

Dan James, or a season of Bale.

Not sure myself, if we got him back at his best then 3 from Bale, Kane, Son or Lucas would be decent.

Would he be at his best? Would he disrupt the wage structure & the squad generally? Is he too injury prone? Would we have to change our formation to mainly a 4-3-3?

More questions than answers, but if Poch says OK then he'll get my support, although I'd rather we did a deal for 2 yrs min.

He lasted 6 years and didn't too bad for the team - and he still want to remain in Spain (well with Real M.).
True, his Spanish is apparently almost as poor as when he first arrived.
However, I don't think Spurs would be the only club after him and his agent would go for the club that give him the best offer.

I love the fact that bale is making it hard for them to get rid of him. The fans and the management have treated him like shit. Yes I get he is injury prone now but he has done a lot for them.

That being said, if we can get him on loan for one season and have to pay 250 k a week then we should think about it.

The thing is he already probably is on the best offer he'll get. If he's going on loan he's paid the same whatever chunk of his salary the buying team pay RM. Maybe in terms of agents fees for securing the deal but that's about it.

IIRC there was an issue with the way RM wanted him to train, in as much as it was pushing him too much and it was the training that was causing many of the injuries. If Poch wants him and thinks he won't cause problems within the squad, it's a no brainer, £23m for a world class player for a year? Why wouldn't you!

I think trying to copy Ronaldo and tack on a load of mass didn't help him, he bulked up got a bit stronger but lost agility, his dribbling has never been as good as it was when he was with us. much more just push and run than those change through the gears we used to see with close control.
