When Poch said a painful rebuild was needed it would have been painful a year ago, now a rebuild is anything but painful
Well maybe he should of started a year earlier then, he had money to spend but.....Barcelona bought him lol.

Enic has dug Spurs into a very, very deep hole. Hiring Mourinho was an atrocious decision. The problem was not Poch.

Generally in agreement with this and your point. But Ricky Sacks and the rest of 'em on his podcast can fuck off. Every single one wanted Poch to go and no one ever used this as a mitigating circumstance for last/this season under him. They are as fickle as they come.

The worst part about that defeat is watching Leipzig was like watching Tottenham from a few years ago.

I know that our team was past its best before Poch left.
I know that we are completely fucked by our injuries.
I know that Ndombele - for whatever reason - has, and is, failing to perform.
I know that we need reinforcements at key positions.

My expectations are low. I didn't expect us to win anything this season, and I certainly didn't expect to beat Leipzig in this tie. (I am amazed that - according to the poll in this thread - almost one third of people expected us to win 1-0 after 90 minutes.) I don't expect us to play in Europe next season. In fact, I would be surprised if we managed to finish in the top half of the table. Then I see this......

"We made mistakes. Mistakes that we have analysed in previous matches."

I have just two ambitions left for this season:
1. That in at least one match, our team looks like more than the sum of its parts instead of a collection of talented individual players who have just met; and
2. That once, just once, Mourinho can take at least a little of the responsibility for the shit show that we are seeing.

He just can't resist throwing his players under the bus. Nothing, but nothing, is ever his fault. It's like listening to Redknapp mark II.

I’ve actually never heard of them... I was looking for the clip of Poch?

you need malleable , eager to learn, eager to please, young ,most of all eager to fucking run players these days. All the best teams now have plenty of legs in the team. Leipzig, Ajax last year ,City two years ago and the current liverpool. They are normally young cantankerous run all day teams.

We have way too many players who are icing . We don't have enough players who are cake. Jordan Hedersons and Andy Robertsons . Not sexy signings but have an integrity to them.

Scott Parker and Carrick are good examples of where we got this right.

Ndombele has an arse like a dead heat in a zeppelin race.

For those who are missing Poch, perhaps your memories are too short:

And annoyingly, looking at those goals scored, Lloris should have been axed together with Poch too. Poor poor positionings and efforts.

Ah, I'm not going down this rabbit hole. "We're going to lose to this team, I don't see how we can get a result" we lose - shit hits the fan - "well it's the emotional attachment that's driving me" ...

We could be here all night.
To be fair, you can expect to lose but be upbeat about the performance if you've gone out swinging.

We didn't, so I fully understand the anger.

Cold hard light of day - the apathy before the game and then the explosion after? Beer maybe?

I'm still over the result.

Big old cloud hanging around this club at the moment though, time to baton down the hatches.

From my own perspective, I was actually of a mind that we'd get something from the game, and the first 20 minutes was what I was expecting,, energetic, front foot Football looking to put them under pressure. The team had belief and were taking it to them, building momentum and confidence.

Then 2 mistakes, 2 quick goals and it all evaporated. You could see it in the faces of the players, their whole mindset was "FFS, again?"

I listened to Alli's interview after the game and he pretty much vocalise it without actually naming names when he said the whole team lacked, not just those required to stop the goals. I'm paraphrasing here, but to me he's recognising that Lloris made huge errors, but he's not going to come right out and say he cost us.

But back on subject, I understand the anger, I just think it's misdirected. That wasn't on JM in my book, he set us up to go for it, but it turned to shit after 20 minutes because senior players cocked up. After that we couldn't lay a glove on them as they know how to see out a game, so we went out with a whimper with absolutely nothing on the bench to change the game.

I genuinely had no expectations of us doing something, I didn't see us getting battered either and I thought it was coming after the second went in.

As you say, two quick goals and that was that.

Maybe a few who are losing their shit haven't experienced this side of Spurs before. Sadly for me I have, sure many have. End of the season cannot come quickly enough, for me personally.
