Covid19. We shouldn't be travelling. blessing in disguise.
Heck... I myself can't spin this. Gutted.
Heck... I myself can't spin this. Gutted.
When you cast a cold eye over all that's happened this season, and even leading up to it at the back end of last season, you cant do anything other than blame Levy and the board for this absolute shambles.
The underinvestement in the squad during those 2 transfer windows when we bought no one, the contradiction of pretending we're a 'big' club because we have a shiny new stadium, or a 'big' name manager, and fluked our way to a champions league final, and yet acting like a lower mid table club in the transfer market, the breathtaking arrogance to not heed your own manager's words of warning about overhauling the squad, and then sack him when he had the temerity to be upset because he wasnt fully backed precisely when he needed to be.
When Levy eventually leaves this club, his legacy will be that he built the best stadium in the world and filled it with a group of players that are bang average at best.
He wont change, hes shown no sign of changing, so nothing will change. He'll hire, fire, spend a bit here, not spend a bit there when it's really needed, and ultimately make us known for being the football club that should have acheived so much, yet fulfilled so little.
What was the point just running Dele, and Lucas into the ground at the end. Should've given Troy some more xp
To a certain degree, walker left and Tripps was first choice. Was that Poch or Levy? We heard Poch was offered players that were maybe not the top tier, and we heard he said if they won’t improve the starting 11 he didn’t want them. That is on Poch. When he came in he was all about improving young players, then he suddenly went to needing 60m players in or nothing. And not really blooding the younger guys.Levy thought the team was better than it was and didn't back Poch anywhere near as well as he should. The lack of player investment and lack of building for the future was ridiculous. Imagine if man utd hadn't backed fergies 3 rebuilds!
But the thing is we didn’t start that way. We were in the front foot and looking the better side up until the first goal, even the commentator said the goal came against the run of play. Then the fuck up for the 2nd just ripped the heart out of them. It was obvious that HM wanted us to play high, push their wingbacks back and play in their half. RBL are a good side who will always create chances, but when they score from a 20 yard half chance, that is a routine save for any half decent keeper, then they score a second because that same keeper isn’t even watching the fucking ball, you are fucked.I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again... never start lamella.
Bring him on second half and watch him tear it up, but whenever he starts he is poor. It’s weird but it’s just true.
whilst Lloris was utterly at fault, we can’t play football to never concede and nick it, that’s not good enough, because mistakes happen, especially with this squad.
Ah, I'm not going down this rabbit hole. "We're going to lose to this team, I don't see how we can get a result" we lose - shit hits the fan - "well it's the emotional attachment that's driving me" ...So is the emotional attachment to a football team?
Not to mention the fact that we currently have a 100% loss rate against both West Ham and Chelsea in the new ground. I already dislike this new stadium due to the catastrophic effect it's had on our team (with the club's focus being put squarely on the infrastructure and not its footballing operation), and if we lose our inaugural NLD against Arsenal in it (which is looking increasingly likely) then I'll fucking hate the place: it will be tainted forever.Because it's not WHL. I liked where I sat with people I knew for many years and we all got split up in the ticketing system. My dad is 71 now and never sees a goal cos the fuck wits in front always stand up even though in front of them don't. And i fucking hate the pricks who sit behind me too, utter knob heads
Ah I see.No it's not, I can think I'm going to get fired and still be annoyed when I do, expecting the worst case scenario doesn't make it less shit when it happens.
Good interview with Dele - pretty honest and he looks genuinely upset. Thought he tried his best tonight but he's not a CF
I am with you. I have been hypnotised as he has delivered alot of great stuff to the Club. I am waking up to the fact that I think he has ballsed up alot lately. One poor summer of signings and ENIC, him, whatever, must goAlways been pro Levy as we have really elevated ourselves under him as chairman.
However with hindsight now looking back we had a real opportunity. 18/19 with no signings was a disaster, not at the time as we continued to get CL, but it is playing out now. If we had invested then we wouldn't be in this shit state requiring a huge overhaul to fix it.
Think I'm now agnostic to Levy. No investment in summer i'll be in the fuck off camp.
Enic has dug Spurs into a very, very deep hole. Hiring Mourinho was an atrocious decision. The problem was not Poch.
Indeed. We used to get smashed by 5, 6, 7 away to Newcastle, Bolton, Sheff Utd. Remember a record number of 0-0’s at home etc.
The problem is back then were just used to being shit with the odd cup run. Now we’ve fallen from a much higher perch ( although in typical Spurs style still not actually winning anything). So it feels a hell of a lot worse, which I causing people to rewrite history.
Not made any easier by the huge ticket prices, but I suspect that won’t impact attendances yet. It will do though in a few years if we continue going backwards or just stay an upper mid table team.
Would love to finish this post with a note of optimism for next season and beyond, but I’m afraid I don’t have any really.
So yiddopaul what are disagreeing with or happy just clappingI’ve stated on this site for years what a complete prick Levy is got abused and banned are you all seeing what I’ve been saying on here for years. Money over glory I would rather the old ground than putting up with this shite in a brand new stadium. At least white hart lane had heart and soul in the ground. We are all amazing fans at Spurs I love being on the terraces every time with all of you, but Levy is fucking taking the piss out of us all. I could take it if he had a go to get us to the next level but he clearly doesn’t want that now the money making Tottenham O2 arena is now fully functional. And his comments in the THST meeting just back up the complete lack of ambition he has. He wares that badge on his jacket with contempt ., #MakeaStand
True, but Mourinho isn't the problem even if some fans think he is. Changing managers will just lead to the same problems down the line.
I don't know what you expected to happen tonight. Look at our opposition. They are chasing the Bundesliga title and are fighting Bayern, one of the top club sides in the world on almost the same points (give or take a few) and we had half our first team missing. No strikers. Hardly any midfield. Only one full back and a makeshift defence.
You want some optimism foor next season?
Next season, we'll have Kane, Sonny and Sissoko back, hungry and firing on all cylinders. We'll have Lo Celso with a season under his belt. We'll have a more experienced Tanganga marshalling the defence. There will be some new players and some current ones will be shipped out. Mouriinho will have had a full pre-season with the squad and we are going to kick some arse. Trust me.
There will be those who'll welcome the opportunity to laugh at us right now, but I'm telling everyone, payback is a bitch!
I've already written this season off in my mind but next one's going to be a very special one. I feel it in my water.
Roll on 2020/21......
