It was a toss up between Ndombele, Winks and Sissoko. I choose Moussa as he played out of position and looked more comfortable at right back than Sanchez. Kane had another great game. If we can install an engine into Ndombele like Moussa has he will be unstoppable. His passing is quality he seems to always know where everyone is and can find them with lovely passing. Winks was all over the pitch today drove us forward on occasion. We had 10 men and looked dangerous going forward and quite solid at the back. Things are only getting better.

we've looked like we've been playing with 10 men all season.
So we looked like we had 9 out there today, and if Southampton had any cutting edge, they would have won easily.

But Ndombele worked hard and got little protection from a poor ref.
Son and Winks were lively.
We defended well or at least well enough.
I gave it to Sissoko, as he defended well as a emergency RB.

Playing with ten men seems to work.
Bit nerve shredding though for all concerned.
Moussa, The 2 Harry's, and funnily enough Hugo all played well.

Hugo................7+.......He will have nightmares but serve him right. Made up for it eventually
Aurier............................Who? Boys a fool and the upside is far less than the downside.
Toby and Jan..7+......Plugged the gaps filled the holes and kept calm
D.Rose..............7......... Strong performance. nearly lost it over nothing but that's our Dan
Sissoko.............8...........Better right back than Sanchez and certainly Serge
Winks................8..........My MOM for sheer exuberant effort in a dire situation.
Ndombele......7+........Getting there, crucial goal.
Dier....................7...........Solid and unspectacular which was just what we needed
Eriksen..............7...........Much better. His part in Kane's goal was typical of CE at his best.
Son.....................6...........Bit hit and miss.
Kane...................8..........Captain's performance. Held things together. Fine goal.
Lamela...............7+.......Poch's representative on earth. Back to fitness and form.

No signs of disruption, unsettlement, today. If Mauricio has lost the dressing room he found it today.

You just can’t legislate for stupidity!
A needless scissors tackle followed by a pull back less than 5 minutes later!!!
Dallying on the ball in your 6 yard box when you’re playing with 10 men is criminal.
We shouldn’t be so surprised as both have previous. It’s one of the reasons we find winning trophies difficult. We have too many players who regularly make brain farts like these.
Of the two Lloris is the more culpable. At least what Aurier does is trying to defend his goal while what Lloris did is part and parcel of this whole macho bullshit that says defenders must first and foremost play out from the back. Bollocks! A defenders first duty is to prevent the opposition from scoring and messing around with the ball in your final third while under pressure undermines that idea.

Having said all that from then on everyone contributed to a sound defensive performance. Lloris made up for his clanged with some outstanding savesThe whole back four were excellent- special mention to Sissoko for his performance at RB (we could do worse than continue playing him there. The 4 infront of them did well closing down and screening them . Substituting Son was wise as he was less disciplined and was often too wide and too far forward of the other 3 which left gaps causing him to make silly tackles. Lamela was very good when he came on and Dier was Perfect replacement for NDOMBELE. Kane alone upfront whilst not in the Bergatov against Bolton class was superb although I felt he could have done better with a few of the chances he got in the 2nd half.
It’s not the sort of performance we all envisioned but it will have done team spirit a world of good which is a massive plus.
My MOM is the 10 man TEAM that saw out the last hour. Great performance.

Talking of the Berbatov’s lone striker performance against Bolton anyone got a link to highlights of that game.

Given it to Kane just because it was so good to him back to playing how he can. He has been on the periphery of games recently, still scoring because he is such a good finisher, but not really bullying the opposition CB’s. Today was the first time he has looked close to his best.

Fantastic result considering the first 20mins were absolutely atrocious and I could only see one winner! Down to 10 men and then conceding a horrendous goal had all the makings of a miserable afternoon

But the 10 men really dug in and there were lots of good performances. Needs a mention, what a fantastic effort from Kane first half which just went over the bar from inside his own half

Maybe it's because I saw the match near midnight after been drinking since around 3 pm but, well, I felt Aurier's second yellow was very harsh and he shouldn't have been sent off (and can't even remember his first yellow).

Oh well, I ended up giving Son MOtM for being involved in both goals.

Harry Kane for me. At one point in the first half he said bollocks, I’m gonna play in midfield for a bit to have a few touches. He came back and showed for everything. Guy is utter class, he would be the best midfielder in the prem if that was his position, so the best striker will have to do ?

Really decent team performance given the circumstances. Excellent defending across the board (excusing Aurier for obvious reasons) and a standout showing from Winks.

I thought Sissoko looked so much better once he changed positions. I really think we should convert him into a RB - he always looks so solid there and allows him to use his best qualities (pace, strength, power) while putting less pressure on his passing and technique.

And as an added bonus we'd be far less likely to play the bloody diamond!

You can see ndombele is still adjusting to the pace of the game. A few times he received the ball and thought he had more time than he did and lost it but he definitely has the talent to adjust. One of the best ever midfielders I have seen at the club - Modric also took time to adjust at first.
Hard to say what kind of midfield player he is. Certainly not a holding one and he is going to do more damage in the final third.

I think he'll be a Yaya type midfielder

Someone said that we were lucky and would have lost if saints had a cutting edge.
Newcastle had 10 men today and let in five its so easy to underestimate the effort put in on Saturday and it gives me optimism for Bayern .
I prefer as a spurs man to think we would have won easily if not for the sending off . I think that view makes some think I am a happy clapper and id sooner that than always running down and giving no respect for the team the manager and the club .
I wonder if the doom merchants wake up in a downbeat mood every morning . AT least I wake up with a smile on my face and full of optimism.
