A very sloppy performance and probably fortunate to get the point. Paid the price of rotating in less than 100% fit players. This situation of a side coming at us usually is to our benefit because we get them on the break. Not tonight. Our whole game lacked tempo and we brought pressure on ourselves by allowing them to recover comfortably.

I thought Dele got into the groove in this one and Winks gained stature
Eriksen was a disaster and NDombele needs to get control of the ball and control what's going on, he isn't up to speed by far yet (he has talent for sure)
I give Poch the weakest mark for this. So many iffy performances, slow build up's to start etc

Pretty poor all round. Eriksen in particular was very poor and gave the ball away continuously. Winks ran around a lot and worked hard.

Our biggest problem is that we have no defensive shield so our centre backs are continuously bombarded with attack after attack.

I have felt this way since half way through last season and stated it a few times during the transfer window. Even with 2 top quality CBs we still look way too open defensively. It has been this way since Wanyama & Dier's form dropped off significantly.

Eriksen. What the fuck was that all about?
And yet Poch leaves him on for 90mins!
Very poor performance from the team, specially Eriksen but Mopo should have seen what we all saw yet did nothing!

Poch needs to be criticised for his team selection.
1. Sanchez at RB.
2. If you studied your opponent and found out they were fast at counter attacks then pick a faster LB - Rose instead of Davies.
3. Eriksen awful yet plays 90mins.
4. Ndombele and Alli both doesn't look fully fit, play one and not both.

This is my opinion anyhow.

Anybody rating Sanchez as lower than Davies can't have watched the game. Davies got torn apart at least 10 times and was out of position numerous times when they launched counters. Almost every single attack came down our left side, how the fack can Sanchez be the one bearing the brunt of some of you guys' harsh ratings?

Not that he was good, obviously.

I’m not going to put too much blame on Sanchez as we’ve seen previously that he’s not a RB.

If he wanted to rest Aurier and if KWP isn’t fully fit, Poch could have swapped Toby with Sanchez or played Sissoko at RB (he’s a better RB than Sanchez although neither are actual RBs) and would have done a better job than just sitting on the bench in the first hour or so.

Not taking the piss, for the first time in a while he attacked the goal several times. For the longest time Poch had him play defensive duties and he was tied up with that, but in this one he actually went forward and nearly copped a couple of goals so for me that for him in a groove. We will see over the next games if he has turned that corner

I understand the need for players needing to get their match fitness levels up, Alli, Ndombele, Verts, and even Davies. We did however look disjointed, made too many mistakes and squandered too many chances in a game where we could have easily won and strolled through the last 20-30 as we did on Saturday, despite not even playing that well.

Winks was head and shoulders our best player.

If we need a holding midfielder in the middle, on current form it won't be winks being dropped, it will be ndombele.

The media always talked about the physicality and the pace of the English game.

If we were to buy any player from this olympiakos side, the first question asked would be whether that particular player can withstand the rigours of the English league?

Looking at this game, safe to say another myth busted.

Agree with most of what's been said. Winks the obvious standout, lacklustre performance etc etc.

I think Ndombele is a weird one. He had a pretty average game and made a few mistakes, but I still think his general passing is such a step up from Winks and Sissoko. There were a few times when, upon receiving the ball, he made a quick, incisive, perfectly weighted pass through Olympiacos' midfield to put us on the attack. This is something that none of our midfielders in recent years have really been able to do. Winks might pull off one such pass every 3 or 4 games, but Ndombele has the capacity to do that 3 or 4 times per game. As soon as Sissoko came on, while far more mobile and capable of making driving runs, he was misplacing and underhitting simple passes all over the place.

However, Ndombele also looked so physically laboured. I'm still not sure how much of this is due to his heavy, languid running style (which was the same at Lyon) and how much it's him being unfit/tired by the heat. Either way it's a bit worrying.

Totally agree with all the comments positive and negative about NDombele. He could be a diamond. That sense of immediately knowing where to pass it is pure creativity and also agree with the style comments.
I think for it to work the other players around him must fill in the blanks, the chemistry between them etc

Absolutely, yet the SC experts have our DM as Motm.
Ndombele is a very positive player, looking for that early pass, and driving forward.
That's the way he plays, That's his role in the side.
He needs a defensive player by his side, mopping up.

Winks is certainly a safety first player, but if a midfielder bursts through or down the wings, then he just can't keep up. That cross is coming in. That shot on goal will happen.
He lacks the power to get him out of trouble, He is not anticipating danger.

For what Winks does, he had a good game, keeping possession as a priority, moving the ball around and helping to evade their press.
If he had a back 3 behind him, he'd probably be fine.

Diet played RB in his first season for us.
