Yes GLC MOM by far - funny that some were writing him off a week or two ago in the GLC thread based on a few sub appearances

Aurier seems like a different player in the last month or so. The obligatory penalty/red card/own goal has vanished

Pretty much agree with most on the rest

A little note on Sess. He is a big talent and I think he will ultimately be top class in one position but as I said in the Sess thread before we signed him, he just doesn't look quite good enough with the ball too be LW or even LWB. Early days though obvs

Nice having LLoris back. Think he provided some degree of calm for our back 4.

Aurier is looking a bit better defensively. Still hit and miss going forward. Mostly miss.

Sess was a liability. Was a mistake starting him by Jose. He will eventually need to be loaned out for a year or two to learn that position. Problem for me is that his aptitude reminds me of Onamah. Seems to play within himself with very little drive. Still time to develop. But early sings have been unimpressive.

Verts looks well past it. Davinson should be starting or Tanganga.

Toby was fine.

Winks was doing okay before he went off. Just ok.
Lo Celso had a good, strong game. More to come from him.

Lamela - I know he is getting a bit slated, but you have to put his performance into perspective. He has been out injured for a long, long time and has started three games on the trot with less than three days between matches. It clearly caught up with him.

Moura tried hard but ultimately looked a bit like a headless chicken.
Son seems to be with the fairies. Starting to remind me of when Eriksen went off the boil and started to look less determined as he had half a foot out the door. Perhaps Son is thinking the same and wants to avoid injury? Either way, he needs to step up, and all he has done since coming back is take two steps down.

Dele. Oh, Dele. Liked the goal, and there were a couple of decent moments. But overall... my god he has devolved into a really bang average player. And a powder puff at that.

I thought Norwich's Cantwell looked waaaaaayyy better. If the Canaries go down, I'd love to see us consider bidding for him. Looks like a really promising player.

Fun seeing Gedson get a run out. He has promise.
Dier looked better at the back.
Eriksen was there in spirit but not in form. Kinda sad to see him go out like a chump. But he's only himself to blame.

As for Jose... thought he got a lot wrong tonight. EG: Sess was too much of a gamble. Starting Lamela again so soon was risky. And the infatuation with Dele is getting absurd. He must be about the only person left on the planet who seems to think Dele is still a great player. Time for him to admit defeat and accept that even he, the great Jose, couldn't turn Dele around.

Dele Alli has almost single-handedly kept us afloat in the Mourinho days with his goals and overall impact, and still people moan and make him the scapegoat. This is just toxic.

GLC really excellent - his hunger and his eye for a pass. Very clearly MOTM.

Aurier good again. And Dele more important than people here like to admit - see, for example, both goals.

Sonny hasn't had a shot on target since his suspension - shocking

Winks MOTM until he went off. Best game in ages and then he gets hurt. Dont know if we will ever get a full season out of him.

Aurier runner up.

Sonny cant hit the broad side of the barn with his feet ATM, glad he used his head.

Lo Celso good.

Sess had a 'mare, and not just the pen. Lost track of how many times he gave it away.

Dele a goal and an assist.

Moura pretty poor, reminds me of Andros TBH - run straight at them every time.

Everyone else ok I guess.

Gio was clearly MOTM tonight but some are going way overboard about his performance

We were playing Norwich who will be relegated without a trace by about March

Shocking though they are, they still created the best chances early on but luckily for us they couldn’t hit a barn door

Can we find a No9 and can Ndombele get fit and stay fit to save us from mid table obscurity

Gio was magnificent a breath of fresh air, he was defo MOTM!!!!! His performance remind me of Modric similar style of dictating the game, this boy can become a superstar for us.

Aurier - wow gotta be fair cant say anything bad about him, he kept his concentration and focus, worked hard off and def wise fair play to him, he has the talent never been in doubt but its focus, concentration and metal side of the game but he did well today.

Lots have slagged off Moura, but he ran his cock off today, no else presses with him, he had a thankless task , he chased everything and was looking knackered by the end, wasnt his best game but certainly not his worst in terms of effort determination and fight for the team.

Dele - nice goal but for the life of me he cannot pass atm, i dunno whats wrong with him in that sense, his passing was poor especially in terms of the final ball, I beleive its more a form / sharpness thing, once it starts flowing we will and he will be fine

Lamela was ok not great but petered out in second half, but you can see its fitness related and some sharpness

Ryan - Ill prob get blasted for this, but i though he was quite poor, its clear he cant defend and doesnt have the strength to defend, he is too shy , too meek and he seems scared half the time and is easily bullied

Son looks a bit off since he back both on and off the ball since his suspension

Winksy lad done well today, feel for the lad with the injury c#ntwell is a knob!!!!

Lloris - 7 decent return

Aurier - 7 one of his better performances
Toby - 6 just okay
Jan - 5 clearly in decline
Sess - 4 not a LB. Looked unsure all night. Clumsy foul for penalty

Winks - 6 solid if unspectacular
GLC - 9 best player on the pitch by miles. Great pressing and constantly used the ball well
Dele - 4 scored but don’t let that fool you. He was dross (again). Lost count of the number of times he lost the ball in decent positions, often down to poorly executed attempts to be clever. Needs to be dropped

Son - 5 lacking form/confidence but didn’t let his head drop. Important goal
Moura - 5 not a starter. Ran about but to little effect
Lamela - 5 - Meh

Subs
Eriksen - 3 Useless cameo summed up by hugely misplacing a forward pass and then having a go at Sess, a junior player, for not reaching it. Regularly booed. Mourinho must stop picking him
Fernandes - 5 hard to judge. Didn’t make a much of an impact
Dier - 5 okay but otherwise not good enough to play CM or DM for a side hoping to finish in the top 4

Lo Celso clearly MOM, Aurier not far behind, but more importantly was the midfield partnership of Lo Celso and Winks which is best pairing we’ve had for ages. Cannot comprehend people who cannot see what a good job Winks does for the team. We were a much weaker side after he went off.
Somebody needs to get hold of Dele and tell him to cut out the flics and to get the ball under control before picking out a pass. Lost count of the number of attacks that break down because of him.
Since Kane’s injury Son has been a disaster. A 3 match red card followed by his impersonation of the invisible man.
Sessegnon looks like he feels he doesn’t belong and so is nervous and lacking confidence. It’s up to the coaching staff and the senior pros to help him feel like he belongs and build his confidence. It doesn’t help when senior players like Eriksen has a go at him for not reaching HIS bad pass.
Really need a CF to hold the ball and contribute some goals as at the moment our attack is ineffectual. But Pukki
Good to see Lloris back.

Totally agree regarding GLC. People want him to succeed because Tanguy and himself are our great midfield hopes, I get that, but I think that's clouding reality a wee bit.
He was good, and every game he plays he'll get better (a player will know where he'll pass, or he'll know where a player will run), which is great, but some are going on like it was a prime Xaviesq performance.

Not a great performance , our forwards seem to be snatching their shots and ballooning them way over the bar .

As many say Lo Celso was our bright spot . We're all having a go at Levy and his transfer business failings...But Summer '19
could turn out to be one of our best . Lo Celso and Ndombele both clearly could become legends . Sess has the skills but is short in assertiveness which may come...and then Jack Clark..who might turn out well who knows ...

...but we need a striker now .

Lamela was that bad you didn't even give him a review.

Lo Celso - 8
Aurier - 7.5
Toby - 7
Lloris, Verts, Winks - 6.5
Gedson, Dier - 6
Sess - 5
Eriksen, Lamela, Dele, Lucas, Son - 10 -> what makes it everyone a 2

I'm sorry, but anyone who rates any player any lower than Sessegnon was obviously not paying attention.

Seems odd that Winks isn't getting much credit, it's no coincidence that we seemed to lose control of the game after he went off. Guess he falls into the Carrick category of being underrated whilst playing such an important role.

I just put into consideration that Sessegnon is a 19 year old kid in the process who is still learning and the others should lead the line with more urgency and effectiveness. Especially as we all know they are capable.

Looks like he'll be out for a while so they'll be happy.

MOTD - ‘Dele was the most influential player on pitch...”

do they actually watch the same fucking games as us?
I thought Dele played okay (not great), and feel that Lo Celso deserved to have his performance highlighted. However, my standout moment from last night's Match of the Day was a rare moment of genius from Phil Neville.

While criticising Chelsea's profligacy in front of goal, Neville claimed that Ross Barkley should "at least," and I quote, "... score."
