How the bloody hell are you guys giving Lloris MOM? Twice he nearly completely and utterly screwed us, once with the penalty that wasnt given (not by want of him trying) and the bonkers moment he clattered Tanganga and city fucked it up while he ran around on the edge of the area. Other than that he was good but those were two huge brainfarts that ordinarily would have cost us the game.
Penalty save and the foot from Aguero almost worth it alone but he did quite a lot more as well.

His presence alone gave the defence confidence. Came out confidently and saved a good penalty.

This team, if JM can find a way to get the best from Winks, N'dombele and LoCelso will be the stuff of nightmares for opposition.

I'd imagine one of the forwards will be looking over their shoulders as one will have to give way if JM goes that route.

Anyway, as for today. Mad game. Mad officiating. Some great moments. Lloris motm, followed by the rest barring the forwards who were average

By which you mean he was a foot off his line? He still had a decent game (i dont remember many huge saves) but he could have cost us again very very easily.

Mostly the same as everyone else, however, wasn't fawning over N'Dombele like most. After 5 minutes he looked like he had just ran a marathon. Showed some good touches but looked as tired as I probably would be if I played

Harry Winks for me. Just shaded GLC who is such a talented player. Winks got his head down and just grafted and grafted. Lloris had a couple of special moments and a couple of WTFs as well. Great debut from Bergwijn, but almost more crucial than anything, we kept a clean sheet.
Nice tactical changes from Jose as well starting with 433 and switching to what looked like 442 to see the game out. 2 in midfield and we'd have got stuffed. The way forward is to play our way forward since the long lump yields nothing other than more pressure.

Edit; Mention for Ndombele too. Only on the pitch for a short time but he slipped his man and laid on a perfect pass for Sonny's goal. Great stuff.

I wouldn't say Davidson was poor, when defending I thought he was excellent, but looked very nervous with the ball at his feet. He was much better than a 5.

In my opinion, nobody improved more second half than Sanchez and you could see the confidence and assuredness coming back into his play.

Lloris 9 - great penalty save and some excellent pressure killing moments showed his experience we’ve missed him excellent save from aguero too!

aurier 8 - sterling didn’t get nothing from him and I actually don’t think it was a pen aguero was going down looking for it! But apart from that he was excellent

Toby 7 - passing was off but solid!

Sanchez 7 - solid few mistakes with his passes etc but done a good job and showed his aggression also saved our asses twice!

Tankanga 8 - well what is this? Is this Ledley’s son? What a find! So solid and he’s not even playing in his actual position

winks 9 - actually played like he’s meant too! Controlled things and worked his ass off tracking runners!

Lo Celso 8 - another one showed everything you want from a centre midfielder and love his little argie temper! He’s also so so so clever when sterling went down for the dive he ran over to wind him knowing he was on a yellow to try and get a reaction I like that kind of intelligence

Bergijwn 7 - didn’t do much but few flashes but what a goal!

Son 7 - so frustrating at times but worked hard and got back so many times to tackle etc

Lucas 6 - worked hard but didn’t really do anything

Very good display all round, showing a hunger for a prem league game I haven't really seen from us for a long time.

GLC motm for me just because I think he has stepped up and taken responsibility the last few games and it's giving others around him confidence.

Special shout out to Tanganga for just huge maturity and, penalty aside, a rather astute performance from Aurier.

My whole family said exactly this. Must've had a talking too?

Hugo - 10 (my MOM)
Japhet - 9 (outstanding even outside of his natural position).
Winks - 8 (very good today)
Gio - 8 (also very good, but ran out of steam last 15 minutes)
Serge - 7.5 (took off half a point for the pen. Otherwise very solid. Erase his bone headed decisions every game, and he is a beast of a fullback).
Stevie B. - 7 (just for the perfect timing and the beauty of the goal. Otherwise pretty solid).

Everyone else solid to average.

Bergwijn MOTM (is he even an option?)
It will be next season before we know if this guy is good enough, but if it doesn't work out, he'll always have this goal and my MOTM rating, (if only in the text of this post).

Thought bergwijn was better than most are giving him credit for,, at least he didn’t give it away every time he got the ball, I’m sure he would have liked to have seen more of the ball than he did, but overall he was more composed than most
