Lloris fantastic but not fantastic enough, Kane for me. Full backs done decent too defensively.

Of course Harry was man of the match today for his 2 sublime goals, but I gave my vote to Hugo. His 2nd half saves were very much him at his best.

Thought it was a really strong performance by the team. Everyone did their job - yes second half was quieter but I imagine they were told to sit back and protect the lead at half time.

Lloris - 9 - I gave him MOM but was tight with kane of course. So many good saves today and looked very comfortable.
Toby - 8 - solid at the back. did really well today.
Sanchez - 8- as above - they are a really good pairing.
Aurier - 7 - played well and big kudos for making himself available. Couple of mistakes but on the whole did well. Davies - 8 - thought he had a great game. really solid.
Winks - 7 - I know he’s a bit polarising on here but I thought he did well. a few sloppy passes here and there but good game overall.
Sissoko - 7 - was caught out a few times in the first half but grew into the game.
Lo Celso - 6 - not great compared to other games before lockdown. Lost possession a few times and seemed to get a little frustrated. Still think he’ll be a big player for us next season.
Moura - 8 - I thought he had another great game. Him, Son and Kane are really starting to gel and its great to see.
Son - 8 - gets the first goal (yes I know was an OG in the end), and won the ball in midfield leading to the second. Got in dangerous positions constantly and caused real issues for their defence. Quieter in second half but that’s true of a few players as we sat back to protect the lead.
Kane - 9 - great game across the park. Goals, dangerous going forward and generally being in the right place at the right time.

Overall I’m happy and we finally look a team again after a few odd games (Everton, SU and Bournemouth).

Kane was back to near his very best today and that was in all facets of his game and not just two sublime strikes.

Clear MotM but I particularly think Toby has also rose to the occasion and him and Sanchez just look calm and composed and completely settled in Jose's system.

Plenty of positives to build on.

Lloris 8.5
Aurier 7
Sanchez 8
Toby 8
Davies 7.5
Winks 8
Sissoko 7
Lo Celso 7 (looked jaded today)
Moura 7.5
Son 7.5
Kane 9 - world class when fully fit.

29% possession, 4 shots on target, 3 goals, and very comfortable as soon as we had a cushion. Perfect tactics to stop Leicester and specifically Vardy. The fact remains that they had 4 key players missing, but we had to deal with that Jan/Feb/Mar ourselves. The forwards actually looked very dangerous on the counter, a little bit like all the videos we saw in training in May (finally!). 4 successive home wins for the first time in god knows how long. Give Jose a proper DCM, two new FBs and another CF and things are looking very promising for next season.

Mourinho has often been described as being anti football. If anti football means identifying the oppositions frailties and exploiting them while identifying oppositions strengths and nullifying them, then we could’ve done with a lot more anti football while this squad was at its peak. We might have even won something.

There’s the potential caveat to today’s performance that Leicester have injury and suspension issues, I say fuck them, nobody made excuses for us when we had similar.

Today we scored good goals built by well constructed, slick attacking moves. We showed purpose with the ball and intelligence without it. We beat the premier leagues best example of a counter attacking team in the last half decade at their own game. I’d have loved a second half massacring including a perfect hatrick for Kane but I know that Jose would rather protect the well deserved comfortable lead than risk it for the sake of platitudes. Bird in the hand and all that...

Lloris, one gaff aside, was very good, dealing with corners routinely easily, keeping focus on their many pot shots, and making once world class save.

Aurier doesn’t need to be discussed, he gets top marks just for how he’s coming through for us right now, but he played well regardless and seems happier as a more typical right back than a winger.

Sanchez looked confident, quick, and read the game very well.

Alderweireld, aside from one block, I don’t overly remember which tends to say good thing about both him and the team.

Davies was very good, like Aurier seems to prefer playing as a typical full back rather than a hybrid left back centre back. He passed and overlapped well and defended unflappably.

Sissoko was a weaker link in the first half, gifting Leicester possession and ergo attacking opportunities more than once and making poor decisions on the ball. Improved in the second half with good work on the flank to ensure our solidity but also more consistency with his passing.

Winks was the reverse Sissoko, with a good first half where he used the ball well and kept it in the areas we wanted it, not Leicester. Beautiful pass to Son deserved a goal. Fizzled out second half.

Lo Celso blocked, dribbled, tackled, and had more touches than any other Spurs player outside of our defence. Didn’t get on the ball as much as I’d like but in a match where we give up so much possession it’s forgivable.

Lucas was again very good. Two deserved assists (one sumptuous, one a tad fortuitous) and deadly on our counter attacks generally. Great work off the ball and left it all on the pitch.

Son was very good, worked hard and was dangerous on the counter. Unlucky that his goal was taken away for an OG but his diligence, pace and sharpness throughout enable us to be as dangerous as we were on the counter.

Kane, well, was the best version of himself. Bullies Leicester centre backs physically, two world class finishes, explosive running, skill in abundance and a passing masterclass that deserved two assists but for one deflection and one slip. Which he’d got the hatrick.

Bergwijn, Lamela, Gedson and Skipp came on purely for freshness (and some game management) as the game has become attack v defence, so can’t really judge them.

Great post, agree with it all and love the first bit.

8's and 9's all round, completely controlled the game, clinical finishing, defended well, Lucas put in a real shift, Kane back to old Kane, great wi against a good team.

This!

Kane at his very best, and then he is a unicum. He's rightly rated world class for his finishing, but the passes he makes and the runs he makes are from the top shelf as well, and brings so many other players into the game and creates openings and chances for them. Such a complete player.

Perfectly put. I like that Jose even stated his game plan after the match and clearly laid out the tactic plan he had. Whenever anyone says "boring Tottenham sitting back" I want them to read Jose's reasoning for why we played on the counter and watch them try coming up with a legit reason as to why we shouldn't have played that way. Vardy was their only threat, sitting back took him out of the game and it all came down to if we could score a goal (which we did of course.)

I liked how after the match on NBC, Arlo White made a comment along the lines of "If you listen to certain people, all is going bad at Tottenham right now but if you look at the table, they are in very good form since the restart" Basically saying, look at the facts people and stop listening to all the Jose hater pundits.

I'll take a 3-0 win any day. I thought there were some really good performances, Kane and Winks (again) in particular.

If Jose wants to give up posession to these types of teams that's fine, but we have to be much better at keeping it when we have it, especially in our defensive 3rd, yes Leciester pressed well but we gave the ball away far too many times and if not for Hugo it could have been 3-3 at half time.
