Ndombele v Maddison... no contest
Maddison scored a beautiful goal a winning goal so deserves man of the match but imo Winks overall was the better player IMO. Comparing Ndombele to Maddison really isn't fair Ndombele is clearly not up to speed. In all seriousness he shouldn't even be compared to Winks more Lamela in the position they both played

Gazza - 5 - Lucky not to concede after his fumble. Beaten from distance for the winner.
Aurier - 7 - Unlucky not to score in what was a joke offside decision against Son. Offered something offensively all game.
Toby - 7 - Looked fairly composed dealt with Vardy pretty well.
Verts - 6 - First half he was very ponderous and his body language very languid, did not look up for it.
Rose - 6 - Mainly for effort. Cannot think of anything he offers offensively these days. Was atrocious last 10 mins but I think he got a knock.
Winks - 8 - Looks like he cares and he played pretty well.
Sissoko - 8 - Ditto, unlucky to get booked for a very strong tackle that was no different to Evans on Kane 2nd half.
Ndombele - 7 - Some nice flashes showing how he can beat the press and pass incisively. Looks lazy out of possession though and needs to up his game IMO.
Lamela - 8 - Excellent 1st half, but disappeared second half.
Son 7 - Not as sharp as usual, nice run and assist for our goal. Wasteful with other chances.
Kane 7 - Nice goal, but looked unfit second half. How they turned over possession from him for their winner was really very poor as he did not put any effort into winning the ball. He also missed a very good chance when he banged it straight at their keeper.

Wanyama - 5 - Looked off the pace, got booked immediately and offered nothing offensively.
Eriksen - 5 - Weak and lost possession too easily on multiple occasions to opponents who wanted it more than him. Very frustrating.
Moura - Too little time to judge.

Poch - 5 - Our form in 2019 is relegation form. I think some of the players are not responding to him anymore, might be a case of him needing to move players on rather than him. But we are regularly out fought by teams who want it more than us. If we wanted to win the game Wanyama was not the player to bring on for Sissoko. We've lost our edge. We lost it last Xmas. And there are little signs of it coming back.

A very hard game to try to judge. Up until the disallowed goal I thought it was a very close game between two good sides and we happened to be more clinical on the day. Then the goal was disallowed, Leicester were galvanised by it, and we fucked it.

That the game panned out the way it did it a testament to our complete lack of mental strength when we perceive something iffy has gone against us. And now we sit with no league away win since January and feel like we're back to square one after it looked like we'd turned a corner in the Palace game.

Lamela undisputed MOTM, he absolutely ran the game for us in the first half.

@BringBack_leGin summed up who takes most of the blame for this superbly.

Lamela was BOG for us. Sissoko was excellent as well. Winks very solid. Aurier good until the goal was disallowed. Son got in all the right spots but had one of his bumbling days - ended up being very costly.

Poch is to blame. He never has a Plan B. He always, always makes the wrong decisions in substitutions when we are chasing the game.

Lamela taken off when he was by far our best player

Putting on a very iffy eriksen to try and change the game

Moura only coming on last few minutes. WTF!!

He's believed in his hype too much that he's starting to act like a Godfather at times. I sont know. Maybe time for us to move on? But who?

If Son was varred on-side, and he looked level in real time, we win that 3-1.
It was a good game, with not much between the teams.
But in the context of MP's relegation form, then we should expect much more.
Especially against 10 men at the death.

Winks was very positive and cannot be blamed for their goals as Wanyama was the DM at that point, and at fault. But he was hardly a defensive shield in the first half and that is his job.
Only MP knows why Wanyama is still at the club and getting game time.

I gave motm to Rose for his energy, but his game fell apart at the very end.

It is what it is. We look an upper midtable team. We need to re-adjust our expectations.

Agree with the 1st part, but don't agree we played well, it was a very average performance at best & the quality of our football gave the initiative to the defenders rather than the attackers too often.

I thought we played well overall. Yes they posed a threat but theyre a good team.

We didnt finish well, Kane and Son had great chances and several other opportunities.

I thought Aurier played well although his passing and crossing was off. Lamela was great for the first half and was good in the second.

There are issues with us though thats clear to see.

We played ok, without ever looking fully in control. However the blame for this loss rests firmly with the attackers...son and Harry in particular. I am surprised so many posts are aiming a shot at Toby and Jan when it was the wasteful finishing up front that cost us the game

Lamela is one of the only players who seems to want to play for the club. Eriksen and a few of the others minds are elsewhere. Id get rid of all of those who don't want to play for the badge and give minutes to the likes of Skipp, Tanganga and Parrot.

We did look a threat attacking on the counter a number of times with Lamela, Son and Kane. Ndombele played a few nice passes and Winks is impressing recently. Serge is seeming to have hit a bit of form but the others are just not doing it. We look to have stagnated.

You honestly believe that the likes of Son, Kane, Sissoko, Winks don’t want to be here? Yes some missed opportunities in front of goal today, and some attitudes are questionable (we all know who), but there are plenty of players who want to be here. Even Jan who is out of contract at the end of the season has said he would love to stay.

Dear Poch,

Wanyama cant run, he's done, wtf were you thinking putting him in effectively reduce the team to 9 outfield players

Eriksen, stop playing him allready for f sake

Winks is not iniesta, neither is he dier, stop playing him as a holdin midfield...

if u want to play Kane, can you instruct greedy Son to cut back the ball???

In descending order of culpability:

Pochettino: for not having the balls to say ‘sorry Hugo, you’re paid a fortune, we supported you when others wouldn’t while you became a criminal, now you make a sacrifice for us; for being reactive instead of proactive in his substitutions and taking off two players who were playing well and replacing them with like for like players who dramatically reduced our quality, and not bring on a guy who is scoring regularly until the 86th minute; for persisting with the diamond.

Son: for continued acts of inexcusable selfishness, poor decision making and wastefulness in front of goal.

Kane: ditto on the wasteful finishing, but at the same time I feel harsh considering how well he did dropping deep and holding the ball up, as well as scoring a class goal.

Rose: for being a 29 year old full international who is far more dedicated to his strange press rhetoric (where he unashamedly dilutes the serious issue of mental health by using it as an excuse to spout banality) than he is to learning how to pass and cross; for running around like a headless chicken and exhibiting faux passion but never engaging with the game around him; for playing for himself instead of his team. Bumped down from being third most culpable due to one great saving moment in the box.

That’s that.

Edit: throw Aurier in there too somewhere having just seen the equaliser as well.
Hugo did not even play????
