Never seen us give the ball away so much & gift opponent so many chances
Biss grew into the game & for me just shaded motm for us over an excellent Bentacur substitute display
On to Sunday

Bissouma, had to play with Maddison and Bergvall who were nonexistent and still had drive when we were chasing one man down.

Let's be honest 3-2 was pretty flattering to us.

We were an absoloute shambles in the first half.

Second half display was much better, that's mainly because of the subs.

Son was terrible, Dragusin first half was awful but recovered well in the second. Maddison and Bergval were poor. Lankshear was an idiot.

Anyway I could go on about the negatives. But positives was Bentancur, a leader on the pitch. Came on and was not only fired up and showed the desire, he was class personified.

Maddison and Son are supposed to be leaders, they're not. I think we need a change in the 'leadership group'. Maddison has lost his place now and if we ever get a full compliment of forwards to pick from Son will be playing less as well.

There has been a few games where Bentancur seems to be getting back to his old self. I'd be going him and Bissouma together in big games.

What a complete shower of shit that was. Ange’s hands were tied to a certain extent because of injuries to our cb’s but 7 changes away to Galatasaray…..

Gary Barlow’s son, Fraser Forster, made a couple of good saves but his passing in the main was horseshit and led directly to a few of their chances. Must improve passing.

Gray, for me, isn’t a very good fullback. He gets beaten almost every time in every match because he isn’t quick enough to keep up with the wingers. He is almost sublime on the ball and will be a great player for us but I can’t see it being as a fullback.

Dragusin was horseshit tonight. Gave the ball away 375 times, at fault for their goal, held on to the ball too long when he needed to pass, and has a top knot. But…… he is 22. People probably forget he’s so young because he looks like a hard nut despite his top knot, but he’s still very young and inexperienced in the PL. He’s another one who I think will become a great player for us in time.

Davies was Davies. 75% Mr Reliable, 25% pass to their striker.

Porro had a day to forget. Misplaced passes galore, like everyone today, and pretended to have cramp after a horsehit pass, just like their striker did. But every time I see him I think of Steve-O so I can’t be mad at him for long.

Bergvall was horseshit. I was really excited to see him this season but if I’m honest, he’s way off it. He has done almost nothing to impress me and how he stayed on for so long after being completely ineffective all night baffled me. But…….. he’s young. Very young. Like around 7 years old. The hype surrounding him before we signed him wouldn’t be there for nothing. Barca wanted him (though Barca signed Emerson, so there’s that….) and he’s yet another one who will come good I’m sure. Maybe a loan to another prem side in Jan?

Bissouma - overall did really well, especially the last 20/25 mins. He must be absolutely fucked. Few misplaced passes etc but energy was amazing.

Maddison did nothing of interest really. Not horseshit but maybe a cowpat. Probably too harsh, he wasn’t terrible, he just wasn’t really anything.

Johnson is very likeable and has nice teeth but if he doesn’t score, he doesn’t do too much else. I always feel like there’s another 2 gears in him that he hasn’t found yet. But while he’s scoring it’s all good. Nice assist tonight but again, not too much else.

Son played like it was 2022. 2022 Son was pretty horseshit.

Lankshear looked awkward on the ball. Didn’t fill me with confidence tonight but he’s yet another 14 year old with bundles of potential. If Kane can become the player he became pretty randomly after a slow-ish start to his Spurs career, Lankshear can too. He’s obvs doing good things in training and the more he plays the better he’ll get. Well placed for the goal. Far from horseshit.

Subs

Bentancur was my MOTM. He was everywhere. Again, couple of stray passes but more than made up for it with his beard.

Solanke, lovely finish and worked like a dog as always.

Sarr was the type of player we really needed, though tonight’s Sarr was a little bit horseshit. Lots of little mistakes but lots of energy too.

Udoghie didn’t come on, so why am I even mentioning him?

Kulu looked threatening but still not his usual awesome self. Still probably did more than Maddison. We def improved as a team with 10 men when the subs came on.

Ange, well I wouldn’t have made that many changes but I get why he did. He looked up once during his post match interview, so I assume he’s buzzing. All will be forgiven if we convincingly win on Sunday.

Harsh ratings maybe and I usually go easy on the players but our game was a joke today for 70 mins. We had more unforced errors today than we’ve prob had all season combined. I just think that maybe playing out the back like we do isn’t always suited to a second choice 11 because they’re not as good at the control and pass thing as our first teamers, who do it week in week out are. Not sure I’ve ever shouted as consistently at the tv as I did tonight. Maybe aside from when Rylan got through to the judges’ house.

To sum up:

0-70 mins - horseshit
79-97 mins - nowhere near as horseshit mainly because Gala players tired.

Feel for Gray getting shoe horned into the LB role while Bergvall plays in the midfield and just looks too lightweight, would like to see Gray get a shot in midfield but we are paying a price for not having enough cover in the two FB roles.

Disappointed in Son, Maddison and Dragusin who were all very poor, Bergvall and Lankshear were just too lightweight. Bissouma improved once he got some midfield partners and Bentancur looked the class player on the field when he came.

Dragusin has to seriously improve on the ball. Can't pass, can't dribble. Happy for him just to put it into touch when pressured at this point. I know he's young, but he has a long way to go for me.

We need to play two out of Biss/Bents/Sarr in CM against teams that will not just park the bus.

Also means that Maddison wont be an automatic starter, which could be the kick up the rear he needs.

Just had a text off my son, saying Forster was unreal last night with saves and that I remind him of forster..

Then followed up, with a 'he's massive, slow but gets in the way'..

Not sure if there is a compliment there 🤔

Yeah, haven’t even watched the match yet but pretty sure that’s what I’ll say 😀. I agree that the young players have plenty of learning to do and time to do it in. Would be happier about that if Saliba wasn’t just one year older than Drags, but he’s also playing in a team that values defence over everything while we do the opposite, which helps Saliba out no end.

I thought we played through them pretty easily, we just kept losing the ball. They couldn't string a pass together, and everyone's first touch was awful.

I think if it was our best side out, we would have beaten them easily.
